You think a full white back is something 90% of people will miss?

TBF I feel like the AFL approved GC strip, have realised the clash potential afterwards, and then directed Sydney to wear something with a white back. Sydney has then spun the directive into this retro jumper, as opposed to wearing the retro jumper that’s now their clash strip that they already earn money from.

Not necessarily miss, but I don't think it's materially substantial. They could have had some fun with it, and they've taken the most boring route.

I guess so but the 2 SA clubs dont really benefit anything from Gather Round, the state does.

Im not sure how ticket sales work for crows/port games that aren't season ticket based games

The two SA clubs get an additional home game and the rest of the competition gets an extra week of travel

It’s a pretty significant leg up for them

Financially they get 12 home games per season to sell instead of the 11 everyone else gets

On field it’s one more game on their home deck without the additional travel week the other 16 sides get

The WA clubs both had to buy a home game off North, with WA government assistance, to bring their travel back to the normal 10 games a season after Gather Round had pushed it out to 11

Not sure if there is a separate thread for this but what do Eagle fans on here think they should do about the bye in gather rd when a 19th side comes in?

Making an SA side play twice in 5 days feels unfair, same as previous years spoon side missing.

Personally think 1 team each year misses and just do it alphabetical for fairness but dunno...

knowing the AFL they'll invent some dumb new thing.

Gather Round wildcard:

• Round -1, or Copening Round.
• Each team plays.
• Team with lowest % misses out on GR. If multiple teams share same lowest %, have pre-pre round 1 round robin to determine who misses out.
• Doesn’t count towards season proper.

Seriously though, they probably just rotate teams A-Z. Poor Adelaide.
