One thing is for sure - the girls skills can leave a lot to be desired but they go in harder than some AFL players seem to.

By the time the next wave of kids come through, who go through high school knowing they have a somewhat pro league to build towards, the jump in quality between now and a couple of years time will be huge.

If the intensity at the contest remains as high as it has been in the first few games, then it'll more entertaining pretty quickly.

Completely agree with the hardness. These girls go in with everything. Although it is slightly in jest, the majority would honestly make masten piss. Seriously hard hits and they shake it off and get right back into the action. So much respect.

I wonder if she'd be willing to take a pay cut from her job as a journalist so people working at a local community newspaper or maybe an online blogger gets paid the same.

Why should gender be the only definer for why people get paid the same?

Somehow I doubt she would be fine with this if she was the one being affected.

Haha yep he sure would, i dont think anyone would realise he wasnt a girl too.
I just recently re-watched our last three games from last year and its ridiculous how many times he gets caught holding the ball he would have to lead the league for it.
Was really impressed with Gaffs clearance work as i was looking for it. Not at the levels of Shuey or Priddis but light-years ahead of Marsden.

Here's a question.I work on a minesite.they've just upgraded their WiFi network so the whole camp will have it.on the flipside they have said now that everyone has WiFi we are only going to give you free to air tv and you can pay for your own streaming thing or foxtel,etc.I really only want to watch the footy so would I be better off buying fox sports or the afl live?

Yeah if you only want the AFL games than invest in the AFL pass.

If you want other TV shows then invest in Foxtel which will cost more.

Yep, although this one was from December but wasn't particularly well researched at the time given that she quotes the $5000 minimum wage a full 5 weeks after they'd already received a higher wage. I'm guessing given that she couldn't do a 30 second google search whilst writing the article that she also didn't bother to research the difference in how many games the men and women would be playing or the length of the respective seasons and just went into full "herp derp it's the same job, should get the same pay".
Like was said further on, would she be expecting to get the same wage as someone on her level who wrote twice as many articles as her, or would she be willing to share her wage with someone who only worked for a few months of the year and only wrote a third of the articles that she did? And that's without taking into account how much she contributes to bringing in revenue to the company, I would imagine that well known writers for the Sunday Times would attract a higher wage than her because they help sell more papers. Wonder if she has a problem with that?
