Wouldn't bother me that much more than if we lost to anyone else (in fact it would bother me much less than if we lost to Richmond or North).

You guys were unstoppable in the first half of the season, are at the peak of your premiership push, your experienced players are seriously good leaders and they will be very hard to beat in the GF.

Richmond/North are full of spuds and losing to them would be more embarrassing.

Now, if the tables were turned, where we dominated for most of the season, and Freo had come from nowhere after being written off pre-season (and then written off even more after losing key defender #1 and #2), and then toppled us in the first ever GF Derby - then i'd be on suicide watch.

I reckon the vibe on here is that we are all pretty surprised/stoked to be in the position we are at and we're just happy that we can be optimistic again. This place has been gloom and doom for 3 years now. I think anyone detecting arrogance on the board is being a bit sensitive.

My biggest worry is winning our QF and then getting rolled by Freo in the PF if they blow theirs. That would rip my heart out. I'd almost be proud of the team if we meet up in a PF or GF as the lower ranked team and lose.

Lol, I've read extensively through Fremantle and other team boards this year and I'm sorry but there does seem to be a bigger proportion of inflated egos here (admittedly much more Hawthorn than West Coast) than on Freos.

Might just be looking through purple glasses (and I don't mind being proven wrong), it's just the way I've seen it

Yes, they did the same for Boyd and Treloar however. I think it plays out. I don't rate Barrett but it's headlined on AFL.com.au and his manager spoke to Ch 9 (footy show I'm guessing) saying he is looking tk move on, with Freo the likely suitor.

Rumours that he wants to play for a Vic based club? Cant remember where I read it, but Bennell supposedly has no interest in returning to WA. Which would suck balls, especially if this McCarthy rumour is true. Freo would have to use their first rounder to get him, leaving us with a massive advantage.
