Wouldn't bother me that much more than if we lost to anyone else (in fact it would bother me much less than if we lost to Richmond or North).Conversely, imagine being the first team ever to lose to Fremantle in a grand final
That's something your club would have to live with for the rest of it's existence, 80% of your supporters would be on suicide watch![]()
You guys were unstoppable in the first half of the season, are at the peak of your premiership push, your experienced players are seriously good leaders and they will be very hard to beat in the GF.
Richmond/North are full of spuds and losing to them would be more embarrassing.
Now, if the tables were turned, where we dominated for most of the season, and Freo had come from nowhere after being written off pre-season (and then written off even more after losing key defender #1 and #2), and then toppled us in the first ever GF Derby - then i'd be on suicide watch.
I reckon the vibe on here is that we are all pretty surprised/stoked to be in the position we are at and we're just happy that we can be optimistic again. This place has been gloom and doom for 3 years now. I think anyone detecting arrogance on the board is being a bit sensitive.
