Port is us during 2012/13
I came in here just to say that.

There's a striking resemblance of Port Adelaide 2015 and WCE 2013. Both sides rising from the ashes in earlier seasons, Phil Walsh leaving in the off season, Premiership fancies leading into the season...

This result is good for us because we go another game ahead of Port. Don't have to worry about Richmond - they're shit and won't make finals.

Richmond looked pretty good against Collingwood too.
Collingwood haven't done much this year either..wins against Brisbane, St Kilda, Essendon, Carlton and Gold Coast.

Will find out in the coming weeks whether we are ahead of Collingwood/Richmond or around the mark.

Some enticing games for our fortunes next week:
Adelaide v GWS - I'd prefer GWS win. We know we have the wood on them.
Hawthorn v Sydney - probably Sydney as we'd potentially have two games on Hawthorn.
Fremantle v NM - Fremantle winning would potentially give us two games plus a large percentage on NM.
PA v Richmond - Richmond winning would be better as we know what level Port can perform at. Kick 'em while they are down etc...

If results fell our way this could possibly be the ladder after next week:
1. Fremantle - 32 points
2. West Coast - 24 points
3. GWS - 24 points
4. Sydney - 24 points
5. Collingwood - 20 points
6. Adelaide - 20 points
7. Western Bulldogs - 20 points
8. Hawthorn - 16 points
9. Richmond - 16 points
10. North Melbourne - 16 points
11. Essendon - 16 points
12. Geelong - 16 points
13. Port Adelaide - 12 points
14. St Kilda - 8 points
15. Melbourne - 8 points
16. Brisbane - 8 points
17. Gold Coast - 4 points
18. Carlton - 4 points

So I posted this a week ago.
All of these results eventuated.
Plus WB lost (and I wasn't considering that a possibility).
Basically as good as we could've hoped for.

Yep it seems every week that most of the results are helping us out on the ladder. I've adopted this tactic for my tipping the last two weeks and I've nailed 8 each week! Hope things continue this way ;)

Simpson said it best in his press conference yesterday - this season is taking longer than usual to settle and it's difficult to get an accurate read on where most sides are at.
There are 6 sides with a better .500 win/loss, 6 at .500 and 6 with less than .500. We've played 5 of the current bottom 6 sides and won all of them, lost to the .500 bulldogs, beat the Giants (6-2) and were embarrassed by Freo. Our next 4 games are all against sides with 4-4 win/loss records who most people had in their predicted top 8 before the season started -the challenge is squarely on us to win those games because they are precisely the games we dropped last year.
Freo at the top end and Gold Coast and Carlton at the bottom are the only sides who's performance you can predict with any certainty

Freo flogs over in the Geelong vs WCE preview thread on the Cats board. Surprise, surprise getting behind the Cats and talking about how hard they'll get over an Eagles loss.

F*ck me I hope they dont win the premiership. Even during our 05/06 years surely we werent that arrogant.....

I wouldn't bet on that until you've gone through opposition threads for 05/06 for Freo opponents. Every team has it's floggy supporters :)

On the flipside there are some very nice Freo supporters who have suffered through 20 years of mediocrity and deserve a bit of happiness. To hope they continue to suffer just because some of their supporters are flogs makes you a flog ;)

We have been friends with members of the Doig family for fifteen years. Yes they are nice people but I still hope Freo don't win the premiership!

Quite a few of my best mates fall into that category. I was stoked for them to be able to watch their team in a grand final in 2013 but I draw the line there - no way do I want the 20-year joke to end by them actually winning a flag.

So I'm a flog because I dont want floggy Freo supporters vindicated by their team's success? Naaah, dont buy that. I dont want Fremantle to win a premiership because they're Fremantle, our cross-town rivals. If the Swans or Hawks were situated in Perth then I wouldnt want them winning a premiership either. Thats what rivaly's all about.

There's a difference between being confident in and supportive of your own side, and laying an unwarranted boot into someone else's. Hell, we still cop sh*t for our "drug culture lol tainted premiership" of 10 years ago from these muppets. If Freo get knocked out during their finals campaign this year then I will certainly enjoy the karmic square-up.

On the contrary, our rivalry with them is totally meaningless until they have success and are our equals. Otherwise we're just spoilt children who want all the toys at the expense of someone else.

Nah, **** em. Hope they get nothing
