Agreed. Freo, Sydney and hawks will all finish top 4 which leaves one spot - to get it we need to beat out Richmond, collingwood and the crows, maybe Geelong so an Adelaide loss works best

I'm not sure Hawthorn are a lock like Fremantle and Sydney are. They are still a good team but they're not at the level they used to be imo.

Hawks in the top 4 also gives Freo a tougher final if they meet up also (QF or PF.. maybe even GF).

Imagine Fremantle having to play us in a QF and Richmond in a PF? They'll romp the flag home.

I think we're 5th to 8th material so Adelaide losing will benefit us more... if we were in our premiership window then Hawks losing would be ideal.

Ultimately us finishing in the 8 is up to us. We play the crows x 2, Collingwood, bulldogs, Richmond. If we lose all of them and finish 9th or 10th, we only have ourselves to blame.

It's the only way I could see us getting close to a flag this year . Somehow beat freo first week then home prelim after a week off .

Hawthorn don't seem to care whether they are the best team or not.
They certainly weren't the best team in 2014, until Grand Final day.
