If it's true Jesse Hogan wants to come home and Freo can use Neale in a trade then I think it works out well for Freo, Neale plus Freo's first rounder probably gets them close.

Puts them in the box seat to get him, nice guy to build a forward line around.

They have a couple interesting games coming up (gc away, dogs and saints at Etihad) and the from rnd 10 onwards they have very few easy games. I just can't see them as a premiership threat.

So many people jumping on the Norf bandwagon given that they're the only undefeated team atm, but when you consider their four wins - Adelaide by a margin fairly attributable to HGA, then three teams widely expected to not play in finals, and it shouldn't be convincing just yet. I mean, you can only beat who's in front of you, so credit to them for getting in the best position they can be right now, but anyone proclaiming them to be a top 4 team right now needs a reality check. I mean, Collingwood were 8 and 3 last year and in the top 4 at the halfway point of the season, let alone the top 4. They won 2 games for the rest of the year and missed the finals altogether.

Sydney and Adelaide are the form sides of the comp at the minute. Their 3-1s are better than North's 4-0.

Cant knock norf they are going as good as any. They were a dangerous side last year, beat us, made us look silly in q1 of the prelim. They will be around the mark.
Waite and brown can clunk them goldy is a gun, have an honest midfield and the 2 biggest cheaters in the game in harvey and thomas.

Even if they do get those three (I highly doubt they will get all 3), they still have a side with holes.
Assuming that Pavlich retires this year along with Sandilands.
To get Hogan across, they would have to give up someone of at least Neales quality (and draft picks)
Hooker is a free agent, but the amount they spend on him might force a Freo free agent to leave, maybe someone like Mayne
McCarthy is rated very highly by GWS (given they got rid of Boyd who was a number one pick) and I'd say they might ask for someone like Walters

The work mate I was talking too (laughing at) is still a believer. Certain they will make the finals. I pointed out they need 13 out of 19 and they even acknowledged that will lose against Adelaide in two weeks (making it 13 from 18) yet he is still confident.

He is normally a pretty smart guy.
