Just find it hard to believe that a team that pulled most of its top players out of the last home & away last season and who also finished on top of the ladder (even though they were on the slide) could be where they are this year. I know their injuries haven't helped but obviously they have no or little depth. Just amazing. There's got to be more to it surely - would love to be a fly on the wall when they have their board meetings, team selection meetings etc!!

From the sounds of it their failure of a captaincy vote started off a fair few of their problems. Or at least exposed them.

It's quite interesting, reading the Freo board, some are referring to "issues" on and off field. One said morality is at an all time low (I think he/she meant to say *morale*) LOL

If Zac Dawson gets suspended, Freo could realistically have no tall defenders against the Saints next week.

A part of me hopes they match 2001 this year. It would certainly give us plenty of material in coming years, that's for sure.

A couple of their youngsters in Collins and uberganger were impressive yesterday for peel,their kpd stocks are solid going forward

Basil was on a live cross to Leon Cameron, called him the Bulldogs coach, then when Lachie Hunter kicked the opening goal for the Dogs he said it was a settling goal for his side.

Cameron quickly mentioned not for him, then moved on.

I don't know why they were talking to the coach mid quarter, some stupid Channel 7 gimmick leftover from pre-season. But Basil sets it up as:

Basil: "Okay, so here we've got Leon Cameron, coach of the Western Bulldogs"

(Just as Bulldogs kick a goal)

Basil: "that was a good settler for you"

Leon Cameron: "...not for us."

But then Cameron just brushes if off straight away, and starts talking the usual structures/numbers bs that coaches usually talk about etc. Dry as though.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but I really like Rhys Palmer these days. Struggled big time with injuries and being infected by Purple Madness but is a really handy small forward hassler for the Giants now.
