Every time I see that man I’m reminded of this

“Its like an angry mob singing karaoke “

To experience a whole stadium chanting you suck would be epic..

And 17 years later he appears on todays raw and ….

I will laugh very hard if Ross is offered the role but turns them down.
Who they gonna get if Ross won't do it

On Footy Classified after Voss was announced he basically said he'd only coach without going through interview process etc and that's why he wasn't at Carlton. So he pretty much believes he should be given a position based on reputation alone. What wouldn't surprise me is if Essendon like the idea of someone arrogant enough to think like that and just give him the job.
TBF to Lyon.
The president approached him and pretty much guaranteed him the job. The board then over ruled him and said he would have to go through the process.

You can't blame Lyon for then withdrawing.

2009 he was unlucky to come across a dynasty cats team desperate to avenge the year before. and that game could have gone either way.
2010 and the Milne bounce mentioned earlier. If the game went to extra time they would have won.
2013 took Freo to their first grand final and played against their kryptonite team Hawthorn (and were in it all game until the last ten minutes).

He 100% deserves another chance at coaching, whether his heart is still in it is another thing.

Had he won those Grand Finals, he would have only got two flags. Playing in a GF in and of itself isn't what's commendable - it's what it represents that matters.
You don't like or rate him, I get it, but his record speaks for itself.
Especially at the Saints.

Finished 9th in his first year 2007. Then 4th and a preliminary in 2008. 1st in 2009 and made the GF. Third and made the GF again in 2010. Finished 6th in his last year.

Was also the first coach to give Freo any credibility.

You asked why people don't like him - I gave a few suggestions based on his coaching and his personality. I also didn't disparage his record, just wondered why people give him credit for three GF appearances (and explained why I think it should be two). At no point did I suggest that two GF appearances was not a good record for a coach (although it's not credit that Simpson gets from many on this board).
