I got no dramas with Melbourne winning a flag, even a couple of flags to be honest. Their supporters have been through a ****ing nightmare and I've never had any real problems with the fans I've met, even if some are on the entitled and arrogant side of the fence.

BUT... They needed some proper heartbreak for what they put the competition through and I don't think they suffered their penance for long enough either. A PF loss in Perth is not heartbreak no matter how much floggo Melbourne media talked them up that week. They were rank outsiders at best for that match. They were in the same boat as us in 2011. Fun season, great to bounce back after some poor years but anyone thinking we were a chance to go all the way was completely delusional. We were clearly making up the fourth number, just as Melbourne was in 2018. Tanking was 2009, 186 was 2011 and 6 15-goal losses was 2013 on top of ****ing up the careers of about half a dozen seriously talented footballers*... Given the magnitude of that incompetence and bullshit, they deserved another 5-10 years in the wilderness and would have copped just that if not for huge AFL assistance.

A season that promised a lot and blowing a 5-goal lead in a semi-final goes only partway to paying back what they owe the competition.

* And probably 20-30 others maybe not as talented footballers as their real high draft picks, but guys whose dreams of having a decent AFL career were just simply crushed the moment Melbourne read their name out on draft night.

Yeah, Oliver on top pushing his forearm into Berrys head and he's supposed to just lay there and take it.
Anyway he just has to claim Oliver bit his finger and the face gouge doesn't count, really it should be Oliver getting suspended just as Lewy did all those years ago.
