Imagine being a Saints supporter

Imagine being a Saints OR Dockers supporter..at least with the Dockers they can still attract players with the go home factor (Even if they do end up leaving years later :tearsofjoy: )

I thought the fall off of Richmond was a recent thing, come to see they finished 12th the year after their last flag, 7th the year later and 13th last year...at least they got multiple flags out of their run.

Well what a disgusting game between two boring sides. The ross lyon factor is real ...its just a terrible style that does not produce anything.

It's no wonder both clubs have historically struggled to achieve anything with that style they play

Freo have to got to attack more

So which coach deserves more respect?

Simpson staying to oversee the rebuild and eating a shit sandwich as his side plummets even though some thought he should’ve been sacked

Or

Hardwick bailing the minute it becomes apparent his side has fallen off the cliff claiming he’s worn out and leaving it to someone else to clean up the mess. And within 2 months jump into a plum role at another club bursting at the seams with high end talent

Say what you want about Simmo and his coaching ability, he at least has the character to try and see things through so his successor has something to work with

I always thought Hardwick to Gold Coast was an AFL-driven thing. Sure, his days at Richmond were coming to and end but it was all so convenient the moment Dew departed.

Post of the year

the f'n lols of derwayne russel post game. 'Ships sailing past each other in the night, Saints are on their way out of the 8, the dockers are on the way up'

Imagine being a saints supporter, after years of 'we're building, part of the plan, expecting finals next year' rubbish... 'peaking' in 2023 by coming 6th

I was one so yeap I'm eating a big old humble pie

Must be a tough gig for commentators to come up with good lines.

"Scores are level, if one teams kicks more than the other, they might win the game."
And what's with the dumb-ass commentators in the Richmond game.
Keep banging on about the 'Tigers unprecedented injury crisis' and 'between the AFL and VFL sides they have 27 injured players'.

2 points for those dumb-asses.

1. Look up the definition of unprecedented.
2. Since when do reserve team listed players who are ineligible for AFL selection count as injured in your injury list? Do we get to retrospectively add all the Beagle injuries to our clearly NOT unprecedented injury crisis of 2021-2023?

Saints it 6th was a weird joke the entire season.
No clubs were strong enough to force them out.
Everyone just shifted around them in the ladder.

Say what you will about being generationally awful, at least you don’t get stuck on the treadmill of irrelevance St Kilda exist on.

They’re desperately lucky for Norf, because if it weren’t for them pulling focus, St Kilda would be so throughly in the gun for folding too.

I’ll add Hardwick did a similar thing with his wife
Hardwicks wife has fallen off a cliff and his new missus is bursting at the seams with high end talent.

That won't be the media narrative unfortunately. It will all be about legendary super coach Hardwick.

Just watched the replay of the ump pinging rankine for running too far. I counted 10-12 steps after the first bounce.

Either the ref missed the first bounce or he was paid off. No way you can heck up a decision that bad. Must have had money on the game. For those who want to take a look you need to go to around 30 seconds left and in the fourth quarter
I really wonder if something comes up about umpire corruption and Collingwood get stripped of their fake 2023 premiership too. This isn't a one off, it happened several times late last year. To be sure, I give credit to McRae and the Pies for being good at winning close ones, but there may be more to it. Not making any accusations, but makes you wonder.

They have had to bring in VFL players yet either .
Kaleb Smith also hasn't debut yet

The media is acting like Essendon has already qualified for finals and will likely get their first finals win in 20 odd years. Would be so funny if North won today. Could be a disastrous weekend for the Scott twins.
