So which coach deserves more respect?

Simpson staying to oversee the rebuild and eating a s**t sandwich as his side plummets even though some thought he should’ve been sacked

Or

Hardwick bailing the minute it becomes apparent his side has fallen off the cliff claiming he’s worn out and leaving it to someone else to clean up the mess. And within 2 months jump into a plum role at another club bursting at the seams with high end talent

Say what you want about Simmo and his coaching ability, he at least has the character to try and see things through so his successor has something to work with
Simmo walked into a job where a lot of the pieces of 18 were already in place, Hardwick went through years of shit with Richmond before their flags, not sure it's a fair comparison tbh

Martin, Rance, Reiwoldt, Cotchin, Edwards and Grimes who formed the foundations of their premiership run were all at Richmond when Hardwick arrived

They finished 15th with 6 wins in his first year (2010). Then 12th (8 wins and a draw) and 12th (10 wins and a draw) before breaking through to finals in 2013 with 15 wins

Made finals for 3 years (one and done each year) before slipping to 13th in 2016 when he was nearly sacked. Then were the dominant side in the comp over the next 4 years

He never went through what Simpson has the last 3 years

Look at their fixture. Look at who they’ve beaten, and the manner in which they’ve done so. Second with a percentage below 100 soon.

This is going to be such an amazing continuation of the streak, possibly best one yet.

Geez, doubt LDU would come to WA but he’s looking gettable based on media reports. Would love him in a West Coast guernsey.

If he were bailing Norf the greatest slap in the face imaginable would be going to the only side in footy who’s had something vaguely resembling their fortunes over the last couple of years. I don’t see it.

A real ‘anyone but you’ breakup, ****ing hilarious.

Too much of a ball-butcher to justify the amount of money he will be paid in my opinion.

Already half-way out the door if whispers are true. Doubt he would come west anyway when Geelong, Essendon and Hawthorn are all apparently willing to offer above value for him.
