Jenkins left because they offered him a main list position and he was out of contract. We wanted to keep him very much, but we weren't prepared to make him the same offer - and by offer I also mean opportunities. There was no 'oh this is a mistake' cries at the time, just a lot of 'would have been nice to keep him, but getting the pick upgrade is better than watching him walk for nothing'.

I'm sick of the people on here who bang on about things they said or 'felt' in the past and can't even get the basic details right.

Please, Jenkins is pure revisionism. Who here was going to offer him a senior contract when Adelaide came knocking? Who were we going to delist?

Its not pure revisionism - Jenkins was an alternative talent rookie - Like is Rayner - The fact is that the club were happy to give Jenkins a second year as a rookie - But allowed Adelaide to put him on the senior list - It was a poor call by the club.

And of course saying we should have kept Jenkins would mean we probably wouldn't have got Jackson Merrett 10 places later in the draft.

Nice to see the big man take the Pies apart though. That fend off and snap while being tackled (by a different player) was just brutal.

We got a nine selection upgrade for trading Jenkins. We may or may not have got J.Merritt. But a Jenkins at the moment is more important than a J.Merritt

We can all be revisionist and fond of the hindsight back pat at times. No need to single out people.

I'm probably guilty of it myself occasionally, despite often preaching to the contrary.

Ten pick upgrade.

41 to 31.

I mean, there's self back patting about things that are reasonable. But to suggest trading Jenkins, a rookie listed surplus tall at the time with our crop of senior listed talls we did have - who likely you had very little info on unless you watched all the vfl games and went to training sessions is a whole other level of back patting.

I actually watched the first 7-8 games of the VFL in 2011. Jenkins showed some promising signs. He definitely displayed AFL attributes. And coming from a non-footy background he had plenty of upside.

That's exactly what I said at the time.

Wait til Danger has 15 possessions next week.
He has had over 20 touches in 6/8 games.. with a 19 and 17 to round out the set.

I do understand your point.. but it kind of makes you sound like the people who still think Stanton can't handle the tag, or that Jobe can't kick. Info is a little out of date.

Dangerfield is just entering the prime of his career and will average 23-25 damaging possession along with a goal or two every game imho.

Don't want to argue.. I'm just saying what I think.

I'm just glad it wasn't that close in the end.. would hate for a controversy to take away from the fact that the pies got beat!

NEWS FLASH EDDIE: THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A LAG TIME BETWEEN THE TV COVERAGE AND THE OFFICIAL TIME
also a lag between the clock hitting zero and the umpire signalling an end to the quarter

to a greater point, there probably should be a way for 'extra' time to be nulled in a super rare circumstance. or just tell south australia to install better sirens

Boy oh boy wowee, if there's anything that will make me feel better after last night, it's seeing how shit Richmond are (touch wood)
How many of Cotchin's 11 touches are pointless 1-2's? 10 of them?
