Johnson has had a ridiculous season thus far. Quiet last two games, but Ryan Crowley and a 112 point loss or whatever it was will do that to you.

Bartel has also been very good for most of the year.

Kelly I haven't paid enough attention to, so I can't say either way.
I did say within 2 years.. I can't see Johnson playing in 2016 to this level. I think he has already lost a yard of pace and this has been exposed on better opponents. He has still been one of their top 3 players this season, however I highly doubt he will maintain this level in two years time.

Bartel has actually been very hit and miss this year.. the gap between his good games and poor has been wider than probably ever in his career. The move up forward hasn't helped, and a stint in the middle is badly needed. Has floated in and out of games and up and down between rounds. Still in their top 10 this year, but fast forward 2 years and I can't see him still playing. Already strong rumours in Geelong that next year will be his last, possibly even this year depending on form and injury.

Kelly has been consistent but far from damaging every game. Has lost about 10m on his kicking and his kicking efficiency has dropped around 10% as he strives for more distance. I see him retiring this year.

Again, we are talking CHAMPIONS of the game here.. and I am more than happy to acknowledge they are guns, now and in the past. I was merely suggesting that I don't see all 3 playing on in two years.

The end had to come for Geelong at some point.. for mine they have 'defied' gravity to an extent this year.. the reality is that they still have enough star power and structure to demolish weaker teams, win most against average teams.. however being found out big time against better teams now.

A lot of young guys in their line up and it is now starting to show, having said that.. not many are going to beat Sydney in the form they are in.

Geelong are currently trying the rebuild without the big drop. It was clear when they where prepared to let Pods and Chappy go they where going to
be giving game time to the next gen. Time will tell if they can rebuild to the same level but i suspect they will still be a top 8 contender for a while yet.
Currently they need a young midfielder to start stepping up week in and week out.

Can someone explain to me why Milera got 50 there?

Looked like he didn't give it back on the full.

Saints really have this rebuild thing down pat, 6 30 year olds in the side tonight

Because he was pushed as he attempted to throw it back.

doesn't matter to the pinheads in lime
"You should hav thrown it back on the full"
"I was pushed as I threw it"
"Still should have thrown it back on the full"

sure you can but you better believe im gonna make fun of your stupidity. "Well when it is fact they should." holy heck.

but let's do some role playing. you are the umpire. you have just paid a free kick (or whatever). you see the ball returned in a fashion that is worthy of being penalised. you do not see the player being pushed while returning the ball. you play the 50 meter penalty. the player protests that he was pushed while returning the ball. what do you do? (note: believe the player is the incorrect answer)

(also i haven't seen the incident, so this scenario is based on the information in here)

Fair goal from Steven at the end, struck that to absolute perfection.

I hope this is the end of the Fasolo to the back line experiment, not every half forward flanker with good skills has to play on the half back flank

he's seemed pretty decent when he hasnt been injured over the past two seasons. i would have thought if a team approached st kilda a) the asking value would have been low and b) st kilda probably would have retained some of the salary. there's obviously some old blokes st kilda should keep (roo, lenny) but did they really need to keep fisher and schneder?

The problem here is the umpire shouldn't be paying a fifty if he hasn't seen what has happened. Benefit of the doubt should go with the not paying a 50.

but if the umpire hasn't seen the player being pushed, but has seen the ball returned incorrectly, why wouldn't he play a 50 here? he has seen what has happened, in his opinion. this is different from saying the umpire was totally correct. it seems like he wasn't. but you're extending benefit of the doubt to a ridiculous length here imo, if im understanding your point correctly. it's a wrong decision. it's a perfectly understandable decision. ethan's script was not understandable, which is what sparked my entry here
