Why not let Port wear their home jumper with black shorts and Richmond wear their away strip with white shorts, kind of how they have the last 3 times they've played Port in Adelaide?

Yellow shorts would be better.

For all the derision the red shorts got, they're better at distinguishing the teams in a clash scenario than white shorts.

Same as us. We finished bottom last year and have a mix of u14 and u15.
We were undefeated this season.

That's a great effort. Ours are a little younger, and lost to all three sides during the year that they beat in the finals.

One thing came out of this - I actually agree with Caro on a point. The EFC "Heritage" jumper is an abomination that should never have happened.

Morbidly obese sash represent.

I like our heritage jumper. It's black with a red sash and it's 141 years old.

I much prefer the red shorts over the shitty Grey jumper we wear now.
As do I.

Then again, up until about twelve years ago, we got by without real problems regardless of any clash, so I think it's a completely overblown issue.

Its largely a broadcast issue though yeah? I assume thats why the AFL have this focus on it.

How about St Kilda change their colours? They sold out with the Pura Milk nonsense, horse has bolted.

My commonsense rule is that if there is a jumper in the club's history which it has willingly elected to wear at any point, that is the go-to clash solver, before the obligation to wear a clash strip. So if we're deemed to clash with St Kilda, that clash needs to be with every St Kilda jumper, not just the current incarnation. In other words, if your jumper is sacred, it's sacred, and if you've deemed in your history that it's not, then it's not.

Here's the solution to the Port Adelaide clash:

I quite like our grey jumper, I can't be the only one?

I don't mind it, at least it preserves the integrity of the sash, whereas other suggestions are very shithouse and dare I say 'Hawthornesque'.

I'd like to see red shorts, it'd eliminate all clashes IMO

I could probably live with us inverting our jumper for clashes- red with black sash.

I wouldn't be in love with it by any means, but it'd be bearable.

90% red with a bit of black on one shoulder and at the opposite hip. Black numbers with white outlines

It's still black with a red sash, but it's closer to the GC jumper in colour scheme. Problem solved.

It really should be that ****ing simple, except the AFL saying red couldn't be the predominant colour due to it being 'dark'. Words do fail.

Didn't stop GC wearing their red guernsey when they played us.

It's just endlessly confusing.

A few lucky selections in the squad of 40 this year.

I'd say the likes of Burgoyne, Ellis, and Libba were lucky to make it.

Just off the top of my head, Hanley, Jones, Ryder and Sloane were awfully stiff.

Amazing how HD has apparently made it more difficult for the viewer.

The very fact it's even considered difficult to tell any teams apart on television is ridiculous. There are no two teams whose home jumpers are that similar that it's that much of an issue. In my view, anyway.
