Doubt he is AFL standard.

And I am yet to be convinced by Jacksch.

They overpaid for Jacksch if the plan is to play him back, he's simply not a defender.
I feel sorry for Nick Graham in all of this, he's basically their best performed young player but he can't even get a look in. I reckon he'll go elsewhere at the end of the year

Good call. I think Nick Graham could do good things, but he just can't buy an opportunity.

Mick Malthouse said on radio last week that him and Patrick Cripps are playing for the same spot in the side. Which I found a little odd. You can't find a another place for Nick Graham in the best 22 at all?

It was about Graham needing to develop a game as a forward or a defender so that he can contribute to a whole game of footy.

His rationale is that at this stage Graham can only play as a midfielder which means that he only gets 5 minutes a quarter in the middle (and contributing to the team).

You wonder whether it's jumping at shadows (we have been doing the same thing with Kav).

I still don't accept that the players who took to the field are that bad. Robbo and King just alluded to Carlton ripping the heart out of its own season by allowing the issue with Malthouse's future to boil over as early in the season as they did.

I don't see how you can expect the players to play their hearts out when it's pretty clear that the coach won't be there next year. It's ridiculous that a season could start like this.

Well someone with more foresight would just banish curnow, carazzo and ellard for all eternity

Yet they can fit in Dennis Armfield, David Ellard and Ed Curnow? :$

Listening to Ben Gale on SEN now, I think I worked out why I don't like Richmond.

They like to have their cake and eat it too.

How pathetic that a club the size of Richmond is bitching about equalization not doing enough to help it build its list. This is in the context of the top up that occurred between 2012 and 2014 which has left them with no depth, funnily enough, and a need to finally hit the draft (only 6 years into Hardwick's tenure).

That whole club is just ****ing stupid, totally incapable of the sort of introspection that is required to develop a list properly.

So after two years of top ups they're now spending all of their time managing perceptions, talking up a coach they've tethered themselves seemingly for no reason other than to avoid being seen to be the same old Richmond by sacking coaches (because 6 years in he has either been unable to get his message across of he has neglected any tactical evolution in his game style).

I wouldn't doubt that Graham will get offered game time at a West Coast/Melbourne sort of club and Carlton will get a 3rd or 4th round pick in return.

I've been saying it for probably 2 years, It's almost as if the 'brains trust' sat down in 2010 and just conceded defeat to the expansion clubs for the foreseeable future, and they drafted accordingly to justify their stance and look back at it and go 'see, the expansion sides destroyed our drafting'.

Discounting recycled players they've basically found 2 long term players in the past 5 drafts (Vlaustin and Ellis), plus 2 that are sort of around the mark (Bachelor and Conca), the rest either are yet to get a real opportunity or have been dumped already.

People talk about not wanting to go to Melbourne as an 18 year old, I'd not want to go to Richmond as an 18 year old, if you're lucky enough to be the 1-2 18 year olds they actually take you're pushing shit up a steep, steep hill from day one, having to compete with such luminaries as Ricky Petterd and Aaron Edwards.

Geelong at $2.20....

Richmond with 1.11 in their last 3 quarters.
