http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-06-...estic-violence-round-table-says-our-watch-ceoTHE AFL should summon club presidents to take part in a domestic violence round table discussion, says Our Watch CEO Mary Barry.
he was impressive, good to see.On another note, Petracca looks to be every bit as good as was promised.

Agreed. Not sure what purpose this serves really. Do we really think club presidents need to sit around a table and discuss domestic violence, like all of a sudden this falls on their shoulders to fix.
Why do sporting codes need to become the responsibility for fixing general public issues?

This whole thing has become crazy.

Whilst I'm glad this whole thing has brought into light the necessity to increase awareness of Domestic Violence, this whole episode has made the issue feel cheap and the for me the message has been lost in a two bit celebrity bitch fight. It's not sitting well with me at all.
Back in the 80's Domestic violence in my house was normal. I can tell you now I lost my innocence forever the moment I heard my father hitting my Mum after a night at a dinner party, on Thursday 25th October 1985. I'll never forget it.
To his credit my Dad has made up for a lot of his past short comings, but that doesn't change the fact it changed me forever. Joy became very hard to find and it's been hard to find ever since. Thank god for my wife and daughters.
For me, anyone who thinks jokes about this topic are ok or people 'just need to lighten up' need their heads read.
Domestic violence and violence in general against anyone is abhorrent. We all should strive to be better than that.
Eddy wasn't suggesting domestic violence though. He suggested public violence and I don't believe it's because she is a woman. It just happens to be that she is. The dangerous thing about Eddy's words is that impressionable people with a predisposition to violence can be influenced and it be manifested as domestic sexist violence. That's why I believe he should apologise; Because of the impact his public voice can have on others.
No doubt; of course he should apologise. What he said is and always will be wrong.
This is the crux of it. Is Eddie a dickhead? Sure. Should he have not made the comment? Absolutely. Was he passively/indirectly/however else you want to put it encouraging/championing/supporting domestic violence against women? Of course he ****ing wasn't! If he'd made the same comment about Barrett nobody would have blinked.Would you go far as saying that he passively supports murder due to the implication of drowning?
"If we're going to take offence at every silly, offhand remark or attempt at humour, then we're not focusing on the really important issues of the day," Ms Bishop told reporters in Sydney on Monday.
relax - it is just the AFL accountants moving $50,000 between their accounts.I'm in two minds about that.
The fine for Scott is absolutely warranted.
The fine for North? Not so sure about that.
The North fine makes no sense, absolutely none.I'm in two minds about that.

Makes no sense to me at all. Scott shot his mouth off in his typically hot headed manner; that's not North's fault. The North fine makes no sense, absolutely none.
