Non Lions Discussion 2019

I won't be getting carried away with their poor start to the year unless they're 1-6 and we've knocked them off; then I'll enjoy their poor start.
Definitely a bogey team for us but so were the Eagles and North. Given the way we've played this year and the way they've played we really should beat them. Like you, however, I will not be comfortable or confident at all against the Swans.

I'm not sure whose on what, but they were saying on SEN how disappointing it is that Boyd and Schache at the Dogs represent about $2M of their salary cap i.e. a quarter of their whole salary cap, yet they're both running around the VFL and still not doing a lot.

The bullies lost that game more so than freo winning. They had their chances but they just blew it. They really need some targets up toward and they need to bloody kick the goals especially when they 10 m away.
I’m still not sold on freo’s form.

Likely Boyd has heavily back ended to fit him under the cap when he first came over. But even if that is the case, Jesus they are paying Schache a lot for someone still under a question mark if he would even make it to being a regular best 22 player.

Would be disappointing but Boyd was BOG in their premiership IMO. Unfortunately both seem to have mental health issues.

When was the last time we beat the Swans at the Gabba?

They were highlighting on the SFS how small defensively the Dogs because they only have one genuine KPD in Trengove are and can be exposed with a bit of height up forward.

It is interesting to us given we play them in a fortnight particularly if we leave McInerney up forward along with Hipwood and McStay and expose their lack of height.

On the other hand, you'd have to think they'll rue letting go of Adams, although to be fair he only played 20 odd games in 3 years. A few clubs need KPD, so I hope we're giving Josh Walker a contract soon because I dare say his manager would be fielding a few calls from various clubs.

I find it hard to believe Schache is on that much - 500 K at most would be my guess

Where do they play Naughton? Thought he was one of their key defenders / forwards?

Looks good down back but they have been so desperate for a keg forward they've been forced to play him there all year

Was watching one of the Bulldogs games a few weeks ago where they were discussing this. I think we could exploit this big time. Will be an interesting match that one.

Keg forward? Could give Fev a call.

So pumped for Carlton fans. They've had it as hard as us for the last 5 years so hopefully this is the start of something for them

To be fair they played finals 5 years ago. I'm happy some things are going right for them for sure. But still they weren't too far from success not long ago.

Harry McKay looks a hell of a key forward prospect from what I've seen this year, him alongside Charlie Curnow is a potential elite tall forward setup. I'd have it in front of our Hipwood/McStay combo for potential by a fair margin at this stage.

Carlton are tracking nicely.

Very true actually. That being said, there's no doubt we've both been the shittest teams in recent history. Good to see the tide shifting.
