richmond supporters are just a bit dull in my experience

north supporters are even duller than richmond's with a minnow club mindset.

was lurking their thread on the hawthorn racism inquiry to see what the other club who had a head coach impacted by the findings thought on it and most of the reading was appalling. a lot of it was pretty blatantly racist imo

a genuinely nasty and unpleasant lot if i were to generalise
My experience of both boards, is that Richmond’s board is rabid, and the North board has a big persecution complex.

Not sure I'd be trading anyone to go through a mini rebuild. I'm kind of hoping our up-coming father son/s and potential academy prospects over the next three drafts provide us with enough talent to regenerate our list with higher talent than we would otherwise have had access to.

There's a big asteriks on what possible changes there are to father son and academy bid matching will look like. There's a fair bit of hype about Gold Coasts upcoming draft crops, particularly their current U16's and U15's age groups (this extends to their girls academy to), I can see Vic clubs becoming vocal about changing some of the rules about the Northern academies.
I can understand where their issues are with academies.

Sure, but the VFL have no intention of addressing the issues regarding the inequalities of the draw, the amount of travel for the non Victorian clubs, where the final is played every year, etc.

I'll hold on to one of our only two advantages for as long as possible.

FWIW BigFooty boards are not a representative sample of real world supporters that you encounter at games, etc.

Except for Richmond.

If you're dumb enough to trade a first rounder for Polec and put him on a big contract you deserve everything that comes at you
I guess that we were dumb enough to have picked him in the first place.

Any team bad enough to ask for priority picks is in a situation of their own making via either bad decisions or incompetence, can't think of anything out of your control that would lead to a priority pick....

A plane crash:eek:

As was ours. And I felt sorry for us, so I can spare a bit of sorry for them.
My empathy level tends to drop off a bit when they get better support for less pain in less time and as a result of their own deliberate decisions than we did ...

Richmond crowds have been the worst I've experienced in person. Not the majority of course but the amount of abuse directed at the umpires was actually shocking.

What happened to Edwards? North picked him up and he was meant to be the next big thing but I think I read he might get delisted.

Club like Sydney should pick him up and see if he comes good at a different environment.

Also, a lot of that comes back to us going a year early on Neale.

I’m not criticising the trade, but we compromised on David Noble’s strategy of going to three consecutive drafts with strong hands.

We should have one more crop of players from the 2018 draft, which we don’t have.

Also have to factor in the opportunity cost of not getting neale in 2019. If we don't get him I'm certain we don't play finals in 2019 and perhaps not 2020 if he doesn't come as a FA. At that point I'm not sure we are retaining the young players we thought would carry us.

Port cop their whack!
$100,000 fine

Acknowledgement that they don't look after their players.

Who do we want from Port? Might be a few willing to get out.

I imagine families of young players would be nervous enough too suggest a club that looks after their players is a better long term option. Well, I would be.

get off very lightly

i would have expected them to have a draft sanction of some kind
At this stage of the year i think deduct 4 premiership points would be a good outcome for someone;)

Harsh:p. How about "no home finals for you this year, Kochie's mob"?

Good mark and goal from Caleb Daniel, reminded me of the last great contested marking small forward Lewy Taylor.
