Amartey has never demonstrated any ability to consistently play or consistently perform . Looks very improved but got 8 games this year, last year his tank was stuffed playing week to week.

Relying on him might be a false hope

Never? He played 25 games last year and kicked 43 goals, more than anyone else in our team and just as many as JUH kicked.

I agree Suspension and injury cruelled his opportunities this year but if we can keep him fit he's a bloody good forward.

Is relying on him a false hope? Not if McDonald is also available (along with McLean and Buller). It will mean Amartey won't need to be rushed back or overly relied upon.

I expect good things from a host of forward options in 2026

Thankfully we managed to haggle a better than nothing trade for Dawson, even a half decent pick. Shame we wasted that pick on Jacob Konstanty

Collingwood’s amazing ability to close out games doesn’t extend to closing out seasons, it would seem.

This is confirmation it is a long season…..Collingwood are very much reflecting last year and another loss will be a loud red flag, for our issues last year we did n manage to win at the very end of the regular season, we didn’t go into finals w losses. This is a little different for the Pies as they are potentially heading into the finals in losing form.

Pies can recover, however it does not look like it at the minute, and the flag chances are dented right now. If they miss top 4, will depend on how the pre finals bye works for them I guess.

Nah. Umpire no 23 was a disgrace. Brisbane did a lot of holding off the ball and weren’t penalised. Logan Morrison deserves an Academy Award. Most of his goals were gifted. The pressure was enormous in the first half. Once Brisbane got their free flowing game going they showed Aussie Rules as “the beautiful game”.
Murphy Reid got clocked on the head at least twice with no free given.
Freo got frees once the game was beyond doubt. Doesn’t matter once you’ve choked.

Lions are such a good side which is well coached and have great depth. Sam Marshall looks like a 100 game player already yet most probably won't be in the side for finals if everyone is fit. I feel the best chance of beating them is with speed and intensity (like what we and GC did).
