Ben Camporeale #1 New
  • Ben Camporeale got thrown around more than any other player. He started the game on a wing, played a lot through the midfield, and then finished the game playing as a defender in the fourth. His work rate was a feature and he cracked in hard in contests, but his disposal wasn't always on point.

    Christian Moraes #1 New
  • Moraes showed some signs of rust like many on the day and will be better for the run, but overall he played a solid game that helped to spur his Eastern team to victory. One of the more interesting developments was his impact when played in the forward line where he presented well on the lead and kicked a couple of goals.

    Christian Moraes #2 New
  • Coming off an excellent opening game, Moraes was even more prolific this week playing his hybrid midfield/forward role. He stuffed the stat sheet and was probably BOG in a game that Eastern dominated from start to finish.

    Christian Moraes #3 New
  • Moraes continued his hot streak in front of goal, adding three more to his seasons tally. Overall though, he had a quieter game this week as his Eastern team struggled to move the ball against a strong Dragons outfit.

    Christian Moraes #4 New
  • "Moares", "Morares", "Morez"... it doesnt matter what the commentators call him, Christian Moraes is one of the top prospects in this year's draft.

He had a strange game here. Starting on a wing and getting a bit lost in the first quarter, a move on ball in the second sparked him into life and he racked up 10 touches in the quarter. He game ended prematurely in the third quarter when he was crunched in a marking contest and looked to have copped a knee in the ribs.

    Cody Anderson #1 New
  • Even though it was ultimately a losing effort, this was possibly the most outstanding individual performance of the season so far in the talent league. Anderson willed his team back into the contest almost single handedly in the second half, dominating stoppage, laying bone crunching tackles and even chipping in with a couple of goals.

    Finn O'Sullivan #1 New
  • A tough start to the season for the early pick 1 favourite. Finn suffered a thumb fracture in the first quarter, but battled on to have a positive impact for the Chargers. Even though he was understandably quieter than normal, he still showed some of the elite traits that have recruiters salivating.

    Finn O'Sullivan #2 New
  • After a month off with a thumb injury Finn O'Sullivan clearly struggled to pick up the pace of the game, but when he did find the footy he oozed class as always. During his injury absence guys like Smillie and Trainor have put their hand up as pick 1 contenders, but for me O'Sullivan is still that guy.

    Harvey Langford #1 New
  • His stats may not pop off the page, but Langford was one of the Academy's best in this game. He competed well in the air and his possessions were assertive and damaging. He had one quarter in the middle in the third and his physicality played a key role in helping his team gain ascendancy in that period.

    Isaac Kako #1 New
  • In this game Kako showed why he's one of the top forward pockets in the draft pool with some excellent front and center crumbing off packs and high energy running to apply F50 pressure.

    Jack Hutchinson #1 New
  • It seems that Jack Hutchinson has been generating mid season draft buzz since before the season even began. Hutchinson is a mid sized lead up forward with excellent athletic traits, strong overhead and below his knees. He also has the ability to pull of the spectacular at times.

    Jack Whitlock #1 New
  • An imposing first game from key forward prospect Jack Whitlock. On a breezy day that wasnt conducive to high marking or accurate kicking, Jack got better as the game went on, ending up with 4 goals and 20 disposals and was almost as impressive on the ground as in the air.

    Jagga Smith #1 New
  • After a slow start playing in the forward line, a move into the midfield in the second quarter sparked Jagga into life. He found a lot of the footy and drove his team forward, but tended to be a little wasteful by foot like many of his teammates on the day.

    Jagga Smith #3 New
  • I feel Jagga's game in this one has been underrated by some draft watchers. He was clean all game where others fumbled and struggled with their skills. Jagga demonstrated his usual knack of navigating traffic and finding pockets of space for a clean disposal.

    Jagga Smith #4 New
  • Jagga followed up his solid performance in game one with an excellent outing here. Not overawed by the size of the more mature Footscray players, Jagga cracked in hard all game to win contests and provided some polish on the outside.

    Jobe Shanahan #1 New
  • Jobe lead the goalkicking for the AFL Academy on a tough day with limited opportunities. He competed well and applied strong tackling pressure, but will have better days marking the footy.

    Josh Smillie #2 New
  • Another solid performance from Smillie in a contest that his Eastern team dominated from start to finish. His normally accurate kicking was a little off, but he beasted the stoppages for the first three quarters. His stats dont look outstanding, but he ended up sitting out the 4th quarter for reasons unknown. Fingers crossed he wasnt injured.

    Josh Smillie #3 New
  • A Jekyll and Hyde performance from Smillie this week, one that epitomized his team's pattern of play. He and his Eastern teammates had nearly complete domination at stoppage, winning the football at will, but post stoppage they were unable to handle the Dragons pressure and consistently turned the footy over by foot and by hand.

    Josh Smillie #4 New
  • A pretty good outing for Smillie. In a scrappy game in which players struggled to execute their skills at a high level, Smillie stood out with his clean hands and for the most part neat disposal.

    Josh Smillie #5 New
  • Another strong performance from Josh Smillie for the AFL Academy. He played the majority of the game forward or back showing his versatility as a prospect and he was one of few Academy players able to match Footscray for physicality. The only thing to criticize would be his occasional kicking struggles, though his disposal was fine for the most part.

    Kayle Gerreyn #1 New
  • A first look at the intriguing talent of Kayle Gerreyn in 2024. Athletic, quick and agile for a guy his size, combined with clean hands and solid kicking skills off either foot.

Futbolista where do you feel like he projects at AFL level? I'm guessing something like a Luke Jackson type ruck/forward. I'd love to see him get more time in the forward line this season to get a measure of his craft there.

    Kayle Gerreyn #2 New
  • Another excellent Colts performance from Kayle Gerreyn. He dominated his opponents in the ruck all day providing hit outs to advantage his teammates or often just grabbing the ball and driving it forwards himself. He even showed some of his potential as a key forward, chipping in with two goals.
