So the Norm smith medal is now bestow upon us..

Who do you think deserves the highly acclaimed Norm Smith Medal?

Luke Ball? Scott Pendlebury? Dale Thomas

For all of these big names that are in the midfield, I would like to throw one name out there that deserves to be thrust into the same light but sadly due to the nature of individual awards will be overlooked.

Nathan Brown should receive votes for his effort on Nick Riewoldt.

Yes he received support from his team mates coming across, but the amount of spoils he had, staying to his task was first class and certainly one of, if not your best player in my uneducated, amateur point of view.

Thoughts?

I'd like to see Steele Sidebottom win it but I think Pendlebury would be a deserving winner as well. Nathan Brown definitely needs to be commended for his job on Riewoldt as well though.

Pendles was deserving but I personally had Steele as best on ground. His first half was just so composed, looked like a 200 gamer out there.

Steele, Shaw and Wellingham for me........Pendles was good along with 20 others.......

You could really see the guys effort today and more impressing to me was that our kids stood up.

The Caff played his role and was strong, Reid and Brown will go through the next 10 years with out the accolades but will be as important as any 30 disposal midfielder we have. Daisy.......THE BIG STAGE.....STEELE.....THE BIGGER THE BETTER.

Eternal gratitude to the recruiters and talent scouts that look for players who can perform on the big stage.:thumbsu:

2010 over...................YOU FCKN BEAUTY PIES SUPPORTERS

For sheer effort and workrate Dale Thomas deserved the medal, i though he was the best player out there followed by Steele then Pendles.
Jolly was also massive for us today as well.

Jolly was huge.

Nathan Brown just came of age at the right time. Bugger recruiting Tarrant.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

And hopefully this will forever shut the mouths of the DT detractors. Everyone who knows the lad say he is just a fabulous guy, yet he cops all this rubbish, particularly from the average, feral, low IQ Carlton moron(yes, I mean you Parrot). Happened to meet his mum, Kaye, earlier this year. It is no wonder Dale turned out to be a wonderful young man.

He carried an injury all last year, that's why he was a little down for the year. No other reason.

It was great to win for you Didaka. You are an intelligent, passionate supporter. When Nick dedicated the win to the supporters, it was for people like yourself. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

And you are absolutely right, Jolly's second quarter in particular was massive, as the Saints really hit back hard for a period in the second and Jolly's influence to quell the flow was superb. Oh,to have a genuine ruckman with physical presence. May we never be without one again.

And Nathan Brown!!!!! I have been very worried about how he was tracking, but in the last 2 weeks he has been absolutely awesome.

Kudos to Derek Hine. He stuck his neck out in the Reid/Brown/Dawes draft to say it was the spine for the future. And today he delivered in spades.

I feel a bit for Presti and Leon tonight. Hoping they continue on next year!

Enjoy the night!!!!!!

Have to agree. Daisy was the best on ground with Pendles just behind him. Although he played in a losing side, I think Goddard was 3rd best on ground today.

For me Daisy, when he got horizontally airborne to repel that inside 50 just showed his endeavour. A collingwood favourite whose stature grows with every game - well done today.

I thought sidey did enough to be in the mix. Great game from him.

We all know how good Reiwoldt is so his inability to put any sort of stamp on 2 GFs just puts Brown up there by default - conspicuous in roos absence..

Exciting times for our club. A professional organisation with a great team with time on their side. Go Pies.

I would have given the 3 votes to Sidebottom.. he was so fast and damaging, and really set the pace early on across the wing. Exposed St.Kildas lack of speed in big way. Pendles was a deserving winner, such a clean and composed player, but for me Sidey was the x-factor, personified how the rise of our young players this season led us to the ultimate prize.. Big props to Wellingham too, he was sensational.

I wouldn't want to take anything away from Pendles, but I thought for sure Thomas or Shaw were going to get it. Also credit to three less fashionable players - Macaffer, Sidebottom and Brown - all were awesome.

This I think.

Jolly, Luke Ball, Rambo brilliant also.

No-one was poor.

Hats off to selectors re Goldy. Some really important plays and added composure and solidarity

Pendles was a deserving winner but there were so many players that deserved it as well ball, sidebottom, brown, shaw and daisy it was a brilliant team effort.

For me though it was Ball, did a brilliant job on Hayes he had no impact at all but he also won a lot of his own ball and was a leader in the midfield with his contested ball and clearances

Had ten bucks on Sidebum at 51/1 so was kinda hoping they would call his name but ah well hard to be upset tonight

pendles was a deserving winner but i thought daisy thomas was BOG. goddard was the best st. kilda player by a country mile and not far behind pendles

I had a really hard time splitting Chris Judd and Adam Goodes for Norm Smith.

Trailing these two I'd have had:-

Steele Sidebottom....Darren Jolly.....Daisy....Pendles.

Jolly was huge.

Nathan Brown just came of age at the right time. Bugger recruiting Tarrant.

35 hitouts compared to something like 10 form McEvoy? Hilariously awesome. Not to mention goal assists and just sheer awesomeness on and off the ball. For me it was roughly Pendles and Thomas tied for first, Jolly second and Wellers a short 3rd.

Great game :D

I had Sidey as BOG but just happy one of our boys won it, every player was awesome 2day

I would have given it to Sidebottom, thought he was the best when the game was being won in the first 2-3 quarters.

Not unhappy with Pendles though, made me some money. Also had him for first goalkicker, why oh why didn't Cloke shepherd that first shot through instead of taking the mark...:D
