Can someone pull up Haddins ODI and ODD stats between now and 2011.. I have a feeling his highest score would be about 30, with a quite a few single digit scores among that..

If my memory is correct, then how can he possible be selected??
Surely one of the other state keepers will have a better average than him over this recent period..?
I think you'll find they went with him for his experience and instead of just pulling up a random keeper for a short time. Rest of the batting lineup is relatively inexperienced with so many changes.

That side will pack out the MCG (Insert Sarcasm). Would also like to know which selector Bailey has a photo of because he does not belong, let alone be captain.

I don't think Paine is a random keeper though. He's represented Australia quite a few times in all formats. I think that he deserves to be the second in line.

Bailey belongs, has been quite good in ODI cricket. Not captaincy material I will agree with but in that side who do you give it too?

I don't mind Cutting in the side. Yeah, his ODD form is average, but he's clearly a talented guy and the ODI side can be used to ease these talented people into International cricket. ODI's should be good for Usman as well because of the importance of running between the wickets and fielding, areas he needs to improve in his one form cricket as well.

They've gone off Paine though.

they said Haddin is still regarding as the no 2 keeper. Also that they are unsure whether to take 2 keepers on the India & English tours

scraping the barrel with no one available to be captain. last over in the field of the t20 world cup semi final should have had the alarm bells going
He's a quality Captain that has lead Tasmania to 2 shield titles and a couple of ODD titles in the recent years..

On what basis do you make that statement?

Just to hilight the joke of Haddin being selected, this ODD season he has been averaging 23.8 (5 innings), and since August 2011, (after world cup), he has average a whopping 11.7 (from 8 innings)..

SURELY we have a state keeper that is doing better than that!?

Always been whispers that a few, including Mussey, don't enjoy Haddons company- I'm sure he'll be delighted in being dropped and seing Hadds walk back into the team on the back of those averages..

Seeing some bowling changes and field placements I don't think he is a great captain. Great middle order batsman though. But as I said I see no better alternatives in that squad.
He's done okay as captain of Tassie. Maybe he knows a little bit more about the caper than you give him credit for.

How has the leading wicket taker in this years Ryobi Cup,Nathan Coulter-Nile,not got a gig ?
Should be in ahead of runleakers Johnson or McKay.
Kane Richardsons also stiff to miss.

Johnson goes for a fair few less runs than NCN, odd criticism. Mitch should have been picked and rightfully was.

Bailey more than deserves his spot, his one day form has been good over a number of years now. Not overly happy with the squad in general, but happy with his inclusion.

Stupid. I'm sure Wade doesn't need a rest. What he needs is more time keeping in these mickey mouse internationals until he is competent enough to keep in the ashes.

Not sure if he was ill or something, but he looked quite the opposite of rested/fit towards the end of his innings yesterday morning.

Say that Bailey isn't a good enough batsman to be in the side (although he is, really) if you like, but the guy is a quality captain. Can't knock his abilities in that area.

I don't understand how they can say they aren't picking Hussey because ' the overriding fact is what's best for Australian cricket and we move forward' (sic) but then pick Haddin and Dussey. Why schedule so many of these ODI series if they're going to treat them as practice matches anyway? Very frustrating selections.

Alrighty, my XI for the first 2 ODI's anyway...

Haddin
Finch
Hughes
Khawaja
Bailey
D Hussey
Maxwell/Smith
Johnson
Starc
McKay
Doherty

12th man Cutting

Cannot ****ing believe that Hussey was dropped with an eye to the next world cup, yet Haddin gets a gig

Its pathetic they would use that excuse and then pick another oldie who's been out of the side for a while and not in good form. If Haddin had been blitzing it, i'd be ok. But its treating the public with disdain using a joke of an excuse

I reckon they have lost a shitload of money by not picking Hussey. Imagine how many people would have rocked up to say goodbye who now won't. Idiots
