Dawes wont be traded unless a very good offer could be found that the club couldn't refuse and you never know that might happen as teams like Melbourne are desperate for players and are willing to cough up picks for some good experience especially after Melbournes season Neeldy would be looking get a few wins on the board quickly.
Rounds i think is a ok player but definately trade bait and good if we need to bundle him with a player to get a better pick. Simon Buckley IMO should be delisted/traded and i think we should hold on to Josh Thomas, i think this kid has the goods. Cam Wood is a MUST delist player. The Club has finally realised how hard the comp is after seeing Hawks play its evident we don't run deep enough on our list and i get the impression their will be some big changes to the list as i think they will be willing to let some big names go to bring some big names in.
The club wont be looking IMO just for a leigh Brown role filler.

I EXPECT A MASSIVE TRADE WEEK ;)

just my opinion.

I like your sentiment, IMO you would be mad to let him go 21 (22) at the start of next season, drafted as a bottom age, Zero Pre Seasons, despite what someone else suggested, high speed, good kick and a good defensive shutdown option, but four years for 6 games and only 1 this year means he is more than likely to be elsewhere next year.

It amused me that as you searched for a fast tag late in the year he was not considered at all, so obviously your coach doesn't rate him.

Right now the only way I could see him staying on the list and actually playing league football would be as a specialist tagger. His decision making and kicking is poor and he hasn't improved much in spite of being on the list for 3 years. When we already have to many blokes in first 22 who make the wrong decisions I doubt buckley will be keen on adding another one. He has had his chance imo.

Where do we stand at the moment with uncontracted players?

Am I right it's Cloke, Wellingham, O'Brien, Krakoeur and Goldsack? Are there others and what do we make of these players not being signed yet? I am disappointed to find out Wood is contracted to 2013 so where does this leave us?

Trading these players would have a lot to do with what they expect their worth is and possibly over rating themselves as premiership players too.

What are others thoughts?

Apparently two clubs are interested in rounds according to his management
Ringwood and Donvale?

Just saw your location is Glen Iris. Been to Chicken Central for a roast chook or a burger? Highly recommend it! I've seen Lukey Ball and Daisy in there a few times.

Daisy is in the village a bit, but haven't seen Bally.
Chicken central's burgers are great! Their salads are fantastic too!

Bally used to live across the road from sacre couer in Clyde street. His old stomping ground. They do a really good feed chicken central! I'm a regular!

A drover's dog could have led Geelong to the 2011 flag. He inherited a team from Bomber Thompson who were the best team going around since 2007. We have not reached those heights of success. Chris Scott's worth as a coach was shown this year, good but not brilliant.

It's good to be critical but you also have to be a realist about the 2012 season.

Collingwood forced Geelong in 2011 to change their style significantly to address the way the handball at all costs plan of Bomber's coaching was pulled apart by your side in 2010. Bear in mind, the Pies were 20-1 at Rd 22 2011 before the last round Cats game, with a percentage at a post W.W.1 high of 181%. Collingwood had also lost only a couple of games by a goal or so in about 45 matches. (with two draws).

To be honest, Leon Davis' absence was a bigger blow than may have been given credit for. His kick-outs were faultless, and set you side off into attack beautifully. His disappearance from an AA level player to being delisted (and not being picked up by anyone else) is close to unique in footy.

I also think the press style....does anyone think that such manic pressure-type footy...is is a sustainable style? Can players have the mental application to run madly, tackle ferociously, almost demonically for any more than a season or so? I say that because it must be such a hard way to play footy. Hawthorn with their scything kicking, Geelong last year having Hawkins and Pods step up as KPP's...Plus Ottens too....those sides felt the only way to stop being squashed by the Pie's press is to make sure you mark the footy. A defensive press cannot stop a player who has marked the footy, and the Hawks especially this year kick quickly, faster than Pie players can run to attack the ball carriers.

Suddenly the press isn't quite as effective...and i also just feel that the press is something that can only work when it's done manically. The Pies in 2010 and almost all of 2011 were just that...i mean your side conceded an average of about 65-70 points a game was it? But take a couple of keys out of the ideal side (such as Davis, Brown, Ball, a fit Dawes ((whom i feel has never quite recovered confidence from his broken hand in 2011)) and maybe a little less accountability from Swan and Pendlebury and it's not quite what it was.

In saying that, your side lost only seven games in 2012 (plus two finals) and had a lot of injuries. Thomas, Beams, Pendles et al are all in the absolute prime of their careers, and if Cloke signs on, his distraction (that must have been a factor this year too) will go. he's still a powerhouse player.

There's not too much to be downcast about, your side has too much young talent to not stay right up there.

hahahah yeah i sugested that too on a west coast thead and they said wellingham isnt even worth their first rd pick !! lol they think they will get wellingham for nothin
he isnt worth a first rounder but to get him thats why wer have to thow in

Wasn't it in the paper today that the eagles weren't all that interested in wellingham? They probably don't need that type of player, not to mention the fact that they hate trading with us.
