I am so proud to have been there on the day the Great One took his 700th, and to be there as he farewelled his great hometown crowd, in front of 70000, in the greatest sporting arena in the WORLD. The magnificent MCG farewelled its greatest cricketing son yesterday and not a dry eye in the stadium.

Congratulations Shane Keith Warne, you are a marvel. Will always remember yesterday with great fondness and plenty of enthusiasm. Who f'ing cares what you are like off the field, it was on the grass that made you a hero in so many people's eyes, often giving so many people something to cheer about when perhaps their own lives were getting them down.

Well done on retiring on your own terms too. Thanks for the memories.

706 wickets and counting. 3083 runs including a 99 which ended on a no ball, 125 catches. No easy meat against bangers and Zimmers, more away tests than home ones. No hiding for Warney the greatest bowler we've ever seen. He needs 1 wicket for 1,000 in internationals and 7 for 200 in Ashes tests. Go for it Warney take those wix.

How lucky the poms are they'll be seeing him in 2007.
