Official 2012 Western Bulldogs Membership Tally

On the Bulldogs website our current membership tally is:

I was thinking with that healthy figure of 16,430 early on do you think we can get to 35000 members or more for 2012. If we achieve that then that would be the highest membership in the clubs history.

If you have enough money you should do what many of us who live a very long way from Etihad already do. Buy a membership to support the club even though you know you won't get to actually use it (in your case because you already get free entry, in our case because we can rarely get to Melbourne).

If you don't have the money, make a smaller cash donation to the Bulldoze the Debt campaign, in lieu of membership, say $100.

Whatever you decide, make sure you cheer like crazy at every one of our games that you get to.

We shouldn't get on our high horse because we don't get the biggest membership figures. If we get 35000 that would be a great achievement. 40000 a bit unrealistic but that would be huge for our club.

Just checked the Bulldogs website. Officially membership tally now is 16998 members only 2 members away from 17000.

I think we have marketed ourselves extremely well for a record membership total this year, coupled with a new coach, new jumper, everything positive happening around the club we could definitely reach 35k!

I think 35k will very much depend on how the Season proper starts off.

If they play as per the values Coach is laying down, then any number is possible.

They probably dont need to win all the matches (realistically we have a fair number of youngsters) but a full on effort will get all the supporters on the bandwagon.

Smorgo announced tonight at AGM that it is up to 17,951 appoximately 1000 up on same time last year.

From their web sites here's what clubs are up to, although we know that the packages some clubs count as a membership wouldn't be worth a McHappy Meal so comparisons are a bit dodgy:

For what dubious comparison purposes it's worth that makes us 7th out of 14 clubs with published membership totals. If anyone knows the current state of membership at Adelaide, collingwood, Freo or Geelong please feel free to post.
