I heard a similar rumour, although it was about disgruntled Elliott wanting the captaincy, which is just rubbish. In the end, only two players left, and one to get greater opportunity after he got an ordinary run with selection.

Currently living with Allan Wise though, expect to see the big left armer playing more cricket for Victoria this year.

I doubt it. Some of the older players would have pulled his head into line, captaincy or not.

Poor rumour that even Bee Dee would be embarassed to claim.

The two players that left:

Elliott who cares, he has the skis on and is about to hit a tree.

Inness, good bowler, and a loss but blame Shipperd for that.

I personally can't see how one player caused some others to leave.

I mean, if there was a problem the coaching staff would of nipped it in the bud straight away before it escalated.

Elliott didnt leave because of not getting the captainy, he gave it up and said he didnt want to be captain

yeah Elliott didnt want captaincy

and no great shame he has left, why did we bother trying to keep him when he didnt want to stay, sure he has been a champion, but it gives the Vics a chance to unearth a new player next season

Played Touch Rugby against him tonite, didn't seem too much of a ******** - but still had that Cricket air of arrogence about him.

Most of his ruggers team (cricket team as well) seemed to get on with him ok, so it could be bollocks.

Chuck Berry was playing - its just a team building exercise for the 'Off' season.

considering White's appointment was VERY much the creation of David Hookes, it wouldn't surprise me if White was not necessarily well-liked.

Who thinks we should try this kid instead of Mcgill, he bats pretty well and bowls alright but will develop I say give him a chance and he will show that he could be australia's next captain

No chance. He goes for about 35 a wicket in the domestic comp, what makes anyone think he wont get tonked playing tests? Macgill might be a chump with the bat but at least he's a wicket-taker. We already bat down to 8 or 9 anyway (at least in theory).

But he needs to be given a shot I say. We are such an ageing team soon we will have no Warne or McGrath and then what- we are going to be stuffed.

I have only been around in the good times and can't bear to think that the next ten years will see us lose our number 1 status in the same way the West Indies did by failing to develop the next in line players

Yeh casson is a champ but its a shame we have the problem of hogg at the warriors who has kept casson out of the time on occassions. I hope casson can keep a permenant spot in the One day side cause he is only 20 and looks like a good future prospect.
