Just thought i'd make 1 thread instead of having 10 million different threads on this.

Just saw on Bomberblitz apparently Mike Sheehan has today said that Rischetelli has been and will be offered a contract with Essendon too good to refuse and he won't refuse. It is believed that he wants to be a Bomber and that the deal is as good as done.

Hope it's true very good young player. Add him to the midfield with Stanton, Monfries, Slattery and the future is looking good.

Can't say i've watched a lot of Bris this season, but he did a couple nice things vs us.

Who is he comparable to on our list ability (current, not potential) wise ? Better than Dyson and Winderlich ?

Spotted Adrian Dodoro at Alberton Oval yesterday watching Port play Central. Having a look at Lindsay Thomas and Justin Westhoff?
Or could he be looking at Adrian Wilson and Paul Thomas again? (joke)

Re: Trade Rumours

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Quote} Reading Matthews comments following Aker's departure, he's made mention that Michael Rischitelli being a local boy from down my way is on the radar of some 'lowly-based' Victorian clubs. Id be betting he had us in mind as a front runner.

Was only a matter of time

If it where true could this be a possible trade or am i dreaming? Solomon + 2nd rd pick for Aker and Rischitelli.

It's a little far fetched. I'd say we'd try and entice Rischitelli (sp?) into the PSD and hope Carlton want someone else, that's if we avoid the spoon although it does seem likely

I'm assuming we dont get the spoon. I really couldn't see Carlton passing up the chance for him so our best chance would be a trade imo.

I guess it wouldn't be bad giving up a draft pick for him, being young, good, and already with AFL games under his belt, he'd already be ahead of someone we draft. If he tells Brisbane he might walk into the PSD, they may not ask for too much from us.

If we dont win another game for the year and finsh last. We could give away our no.18 or 19 pick to Brisbane for Aker, Pick up Bryce Gibbs in the draft and get Rischetelli in the PSD. That would be sweet

I'd say if we got Rischetelli and Aker, our focus would be getting a key defender like Lachlan Hansen.

what....tank?

i think we will offer something like winderlich and our second rnd pick for risha and their 2nd round pick.

how we get aker aswell i do not know. will be very hard to get both.

The more I think about it the more I dont want Aka and the more I think Aka wont want to come to Essendon. if we got him for almost nothing then fine, but if we have to give up anything I'll be pi$$3d off. Plus why would he want to come to the 15th/16th team?

I was speaking to a former coach at the Western Jets and he told me that Michael will be coming home next year to play for Essendon on a lucrative 3 year contract. Apparently so lucrative that Carlton will be unable to match it if rischitelli was to go to PSD. This is important as it means that Brisbane wont be in a postion of power. Brisbane is experiencing an experience player drain at the moment. I think a trade would be something like this:
Akermanis to Melbourne
Solomon to Melbourne
Brad Miller and Melb 3rd round pick to Brisbane
Damien Peverill or Mark Bolton and a late pick to Brisbane
Rischitelli to Essendon
Dont know what others think? Brisbane may opt for 3 experienced players and a couple of draft picks. They are going to be a young list next year.

Just cleanin up for ya:

Aker, soly -> melb
Pev/Bolts, Miller, 3rd pick, late pick -> Bris
Rischitelli -> Essendon

we give up solly, pev or bolts and a late pick? Keep Pev/bolts and it would be a deal

If the first part of what you say is true then giving Brisbane anything for him would be pointless.

Is Carlton a lock to draft Gibbs if we avoid the spoon? with Kernahan being buddies with his dad and all, or is there a posibility of adding another KPP

opinions?

depends if they could get mal michael in the pre season???? they do need a kpp backmen imo, however there midfield needs some extra boost to help the likes or murphy and nick stevens, id think gibbs is a shoe in for no 1.

you dont need to be lightning quick to be effective neither hird, buckley, voss or ricuitto are lightning quick.

i hope ritshechelli comes to essendon but i hope we dont give up too much in that later it will cost us, salary cap wise, what number was he taken in his draft year. If we got him in trades then i would be happy to get either gumbleton or hansen.
