Simpson could so easily be one of the best right backs in the premierleague if he were at another club, he will be in the future no doubt about it though. Anderson was brilliant yesterday, he did lose the ball a couple of times, but won it back so greatly with his pace. And the latest on Vidic is that he is ok :D , well obviously everyone knew that because he could have played on, but yeah

oh please.

Wigan offered about as much an attacking threat as - insert something which offers a scarce attacking threat in another game.

put 'simmo' in at right back against Roma and see how he fares.

I'd hold on making big statements about 'simmo' until he actually plays a proper match, against real opponents.

OK Nippy we will play him against Aston Thrilla in two weeks time for you :)

hmm yeah, like someone like Ferreira is better? or Phil Neville lol, i know you dont rate the premierleague nippy, but i think its pretty even, obviously man u were due for a game where they were gonna score more than 1 goal, i knew it was gonna happen, and unlucky for Wigan it was against them

Ferreira is a good defender. Nothing more.

Simpson is obviously a talented, learning young player. Nothing more. (at this stage)

Not sure what poor ol' Ferreira has to do with anything.

And I don't rate the PL? news to me.

Good prospect, but some ridiculous calls being made in this thread (well one). Bardsley looked good initially too.

thats right, we need to keep the pressure on Arsenal, because they dont look like falling over any time soon, funny things they still havnt played Liverpool, Chelsea or Man United yet, which is a good thing.

After Tevez went off -

a combination of want and sloppy play made your lot quite less threatening against nine men.

Could've pushed on more but also could've/should've really made us hurt on the scoreboard.

Rooney probably should've been subbed. He had his chance for the hat-trick and with an away? CL game midweek - it may have been a smart move to remove him instead of Tevez - who deserved a goal.

This time Rooney got the goals - and most of the top-class link-up stuff came through Tevez.

The game prior - it was the other way around.

Think you'll find Nippy Fergie was trying to give Tevez a rest, two South American world cup qualifiers and a long haul trip back to England and now a long trip to Kiev.

a big win, enough points to just about see us through, and some of our football was as sexy as jessica alba with no pants on. so, reason enough to be cheerful, but I do have some reservations.

after building up the lead in the first half, we pretty well sat on it in the second.

the defending for kyiv's first goal was atrocious. wes brown simply lost his man, and ronaldo, if you're taking the back stick for a corner, stay on it, don't go charging out like that.

fletcher and o'shea. never have been good enough for united, never will be good enough for united. fletcher surely has saucy pix of o'shea fisting the boss or something, there's no other explanation.

nani, after saturday I was starting to think maybe he was after all capable of finding a team-mate with a pass, or beating a man, or timing a run off a defender. it seems I was mistaken. he's a headless chicken. talent is undeniably there but needs some serious coaching.

tevez missed a couple of sitters. we really need to be putting these chances away, against crap like dynamo kyiv (face it, they were rubbish) it hardly matters, but there are plenty of tough games ahead.

still, it's true the chances are being made. and seeing ronaldo running at a defence with that look in his eyes is surely the finest sight in football. fact.

You could have been saying that about Ronaldo when he first came to the club. Give it time, Fergie's record with developing and harnessing talent isn't something to be sneezed at.

We have done extremely well in the group stage so far which we have rarely done recently. It's good to almost book our passage through to the next round so early.

Won our first three last season and still had to wait until the final game against Benfica to qualify. Don't want a repeat of that, although can't really see Kiev coming to OT and winning based on this morning. Only takes a great defensive/keeping display and a lucky deflection though.
