Old Man Hill on fire tonight. Torched the Pacers for 34 on 14-25 shooting. Currently the Suns are winning the OT battle.

#1 scorer VC shoots 3-14 for 7 points.

The big Thunder v Lakers game just about to begin.

Purdue game should be over in 5, so I might watch the Lakers game until I fall asleep. Good to see Hill dominate, one of my fav players who isn't a Laker. Could be double over time, go Pacers!! :)

edit: no good, Frye is mr clutch :(

Just flicked League Pass on, seems to be working ok today :thumbsu:

So the quality's fine, now they're just missing large chunks of play by repeating the timeout ads over and over and over again.

Bibby's reaction to being traded was something like this.

Has Stern got on the agenda to discuss the introduction of a "Franchise Player" similar to the NFL?

With all the colluding of players going on I think its time.

I've seen that 'Franchise Tag' idea mentioned on RealGM a few times. Any of the NFL guys (sblack) care to shed some light on how it works.

The term also has a separate contractual definition within the National Football League. A team can designate a single player as its franchise player and therefore restrict the player from entering free agency. In return, the team must pay the player a premium salary. The NFL requires that a franchise player be paid at least the average of the top 5 players in the league at his position, or 120% of his previous year's salary, whichever is greater. The franchise player status lasts for only 1 year and can be renewed, but if not renewed the player is granted unrestricted free agency.
In practice, many teams do not utilize the franchise tag; in 2008, only 12 of 32 NFL teams had a tagged franchise player. The tag, or the threat of using the tag, can be used as a negotiating tactic by the team to convince a player to sign a long-term deal with the same team. The player's alternative is to take a single highly-paid year and then free agency. The player's next contract as a free agent will depend on how the player performs in the single year, and some players may decide to take the more certain long-term deal up front.

Perfect for the Heat is right, if anything he gets even more burned by good PGs than the Heat do.

The Knicks to beat the Heat again!.............

"For all the praise that’s been showered over Anthony and Stoudemire, the Knicks will shell out nearly $200 million over the next four seasons to two players who don’t play defense. And when building a championship-caliber roster within the confines of a tight budget -- which will almost surely grow more constricting in the next CBA -- that’s an enormous pill to swallow."
:D

"Let’s not pull any punches here: The Knicks defense has been terrible kicking off the Anthony era, in no small part because of New York's superstars. During the Cleveland game, when Stoudemire couldn’t stop Antawn Jamison (28 points), the Knicks handed the assignment to Anthony in crunch time. Over the next four possessions, Jamison shredded Anthony when the Knicks needed stops. Anthony watched Jamison as he backed him down for an easy layup, then Anthony fouled Jamison away from the ball the next two times down the court, and to top things off, Anthony saw Jamison blow by him for another lay-in at the rim. Jamison scored seven points on those four possessions and pushed the Cavaliers' lead to eight. The Knicks never closed the gap thereafter."

so much hate

Looking forward to the Melo/Lebron match up....

LeBron vs. Carmelo
This is the mano-a-mano almost everyone will be watching, even with Anthony nursing a sore right elbow. James has had success over the years as Anthony's primary defender. On possessions when the two superstars have been matched up one-on-one since 2004-05, Anthony has shot 15-for-40 (37.5 percent) and generated only 0.79 points per play. James has had a bit more success, shooting 13-for-28 (46.4 percent) and scoring 0.94 points per play. We've seen James' best defensive performances of the season when he's matched up against premiere counterparts at the small forward spot, such as the Jan. 30 win over Oklahoma City, when James did solid work on Kevin Durant. Anthony and Durant are different talents -- Melo is far more physical creating space for himself -- but James certainly knows that a national audience will be focused in on those one-on-one battles out on the wing.

Why is the game on ESPN over in the states but not here, You would think that ESPN over here would break the Thursday/Saturday trend to show this one. This game will rate through the roof
