MDC - its about time you showed some love for the PER challenged point guard :)

I have much love for D-Rose; he'd be in my top 5 guys to watch this year no question. I just don't think he should be in MVP contention, that's all - particularly given Chicago's average record.

Fwiw:
Some ESPN dude said:
Earlier in the day, I read some mild criticism of Rose that was linked on TrueHoop, mostly that he is too graceful going to the hoop, and thus doesn't create contact and draw enough fouls.

I doubt Rose reads TrueHoop or FreeDarko, but he agrees with the criticism.

Like Noah said, he's always hard on himself.

"Yeah, I'm learning that now," [Rose] said. "Where my whole life in the park, you try to not get fouled, because there's no fouls in the park. So you try and hit the layup or go through somebody. So my whole life I've been avoiding calls.

"Some of the things you see me do out there, I've been doing it my whole life. So it's hard to change but I'm getting used to it. Hopefully as the year goes on, I'll get to the line more.

Who loves Derrick Rose?

I love Derrick Rose.

Also how freaking long until Thibs realises that Keith Bogans is killing Chicago? Start Brewer and leave Korver leading the 2nd unit where he's thriving.

Bogans has gotta lose his starting spot, he stands out like dogs balls in that 5, right now he is giving nothing. Had open looks today that didn't even look like going in, the side looked so much better with Brewer or Korver in the game. I love watching Korver he has so much confidence in his shot, with good reason :thumbsu:

Bulls have a great chance to cement their division lead in the next few weeks, very generous fixture coming up. Might be able to keep the winning streak going a while

Went to the Knicks vs T-Wolves game on Monday at MSG.
All i can say is....

I know he's nowhere near as good as he was in his prime, but I don't understand why McGrady isn't playing 20-25 minutes per game and getting more shot attempts. Lowest shot rate (per 36 minutes) and usage percentage of his career this year, so they're not even giving him opportunities when he's out there.

Wouldn't mind seeing Chris Wilcox get a few more minutes as well. Hamilton and Jason Maxiell (needs to rebound and block shots like he used to, or should be shown the door) going would free up minutes and touches for other players.

Yeah Mcgrady should definitely play the point forward with the second unit, a hell of a lot better than Bynum. Wilcox has been gettin some minutes as of late but im hoping he doesnt take any minutes away from Monroe. Monroe and Daye should be getting minutes on this team with us going nowhere this season.

Maxiells rebounding has dropped off so much as a starter this season compared to last season its ridiculous. Should be Villanueva or Daye starting instead of him.

:D Love the quote:thumbsu:

"There are no fouls in the park"

Just keep driving Derick, as long as you score I dont care if you get the and 1 calls.

His 30 points, 11 assists and five steals was the first 30-10-5 game for the Bulls since Michael Jordan (four times) and Scottie Pippen (twice).

NBA.COM have him at #3 in MVP race and your love child is #10

Whats wrong with Lando (Lost 4 straight) and Lakers (5-5 from last 10) ?

Opinions?

I reckon the premiership window is closing for both teams :D

seriously, lakers? tend to cruise through the season and wait for the playoffs....then switch is flicked. unfortunately i dont think we can do that this year. the players are there but there is a missing spark.

Media underrating Manu is nothing new. He's the clear-cut best player on a 19-3 team, which is +200 with him on the court and +11 with him off. Not to mention his individual numbers are slightly better than Rose's and he's a much, much better defender.

Right now though, I'd think Dirk probably deserves it.

Knicks form team in the comp?

Check out who they've beaten. Only 1 .500+ team, and that was the slumping Hornets.

It was funny listening to Mark jackson who was pushing Tim Duncan as a possible MVP again in response to the other clown saying that KG should be considered cause of Bostons good start. Jackson at first reminded him that Rondo plays for Boston but still the love was for Duncan, not Manu.

BTW, I love Manu. I always have.

Ryan Anderson missed the last 4 games and Orlando loses their last 4 games. Coincidence?...
Nah, Orlando's losing streak is just a combination of the stomach virus going through the team plus tough back-to-back road games out West. Dwight Howard ain't panicking:
“Everyone needs to calm down, that’s it. You are going to lose games,” Howard said. “When all we talk about is the losing, then we’re going to keep on losing.”
That's not to say Orlando don't have issues. They seem undecided on whether to start Lewis at the 4 or put Bass/Anderson there and shift Richardson to the bench.

Adam Morrison?

Im still wary of Deshawn Stevenson as a starter...
He only plays 13 minutes per game so he's not that big of a factor I think.
He can be a decent defender (had the defensive assignment on Deron in this game, then as soon as Stevenson was subbed out, Deron cut loose hitting his last 3 shots).

The big question is whether DeShawn will be an offensive liability during his time on the court, but he's hitting on 51% of his 3's so far.

Beaubois will be the starting 2-guard when he returns from injury anyway.
