Why not put Phil Matera up for trade? he'll be 29 in a couple of months, he's a quality small forward, but not a player the Eagles would desperately miss, seeing the young talls are coming on nicely, plus others options in your squad.

It's not a rumour, just an opinion, what do you guys think of it?

Not sure we'd get much for him, nor do I agree with the idea of trading away long term servants of the club.

I would consider a trade of Wirrpunda for Tarkyn Lockyer. I don't think young Tark has fully found his best form since his knee Reco and should be good once he gets back into it properly.

- Chad Jones. Same age, same performances more or less (Hansen been a bit better), same ability, just different ends of the ground, and playing on the opposite sides of the countries to where their parents live...... could be a definate one to look at. His brother at the club doesn't hurt either.

I think from those probalby Jones is the best one too look at. Jones is a big guy (194cm) but needs to bulk up (75kg). Could be a handy thing to happen. Although as i understand Hansen has re-signed, so this could perhaps be a long term thing to look at.

I've heard he's quite good, just needs to bulk up. If we do aim for him we can do the old "Come play with your brother" line on him

That isnt a bad idea actually. I rate Lockyer quite highly and i reckon he could slip right in quite confortably, but I would hate to see Wirrpunda go

no matera should ever be traded by the eagles. did wally qualify for F/S? you know how many kids those three are going to have? you know how much football they are going to play with and against each other?

then at the eagles i wouldnt be suprised to be making up the entire midfield with materas in season 2020

although lockyer is a great player, i would much prefer wirra, because his rebound from defence is so improtant to our structure, and he is one of our only defenders who can find a target from the half back line.
