Have to factor Mitch Clark coming in - you need 3 spots open for draft day.

I'd say Warnock, Maric & Wona to the rookie list, I would also let Bate go for pick 39 but depends on what the club reckons.

I agree. What picks do we have now that pick 12 is gone? Considering we have to use 3 pick 39 would come in handy but may not need it if we are thinking of using our last 2 picks as rookie upgrades (Nicholson & Evans).

Picks 36, 39 and 47 sounds a hell of a lot better. Don't reckon either players will get upgraded, but I guess if they really don't rate any players at the pick, Nicho may get a shot.

Bate after the Clarke trade is on even more shaky ground to even crack it for a game. Now we have the option of putting Howe/Green/Petterd further up the field and a host of others before Bate plays that role he has in the past.

His best games at Casey he pushed into the middle and his last game against Port I thought he was one of our best playing in the midfield but its hard to see him picked ahead over our other midfielders.

Injuries happen and its good to have depth but certainly not a required player imo. Don't know why we knocked back the WB pick they put up?

Warnock is good for match ups but how often do we see teams picked based on match ups rather than form in AFL? Not often... Green can go back more this year along with Davey and Stef with the rotations of Jamar/Clarke/Stef. Add Grimes to the mix this year and even more limited opportunities for Warnock. If he is to spend the year in the VFL I hope we do work something to give him a crack at continuing his AFL career.

We did wrong by Macca and lets hope the club has learnt and gives guys not in the mix a chance to move on the right way if we can.

No. With Clark in we'd be unliekly to get any of the benefits of the trade, plus all of the negetives (ie. bad for morale, bad for development, bad for long term team structure,, bad for team bonding, bad for publicity)
