Matty on SEN now talking about it. In the first match of vfl he approached Aisake during the first qtr and told him he could be doing more at the contests when the ball is in the air and Aisake took offence to it. Matty said it went a bit pear shaped from there and was punished by being sent to the reserves but he said following this it was resolved. I hope that Setanta definitely is not one to be traded by our club. If I lived in Melbourne I would be at the club protesting this after all the development we have put into him.

Austin, Jamo and Bower are all likely types and will no doubt develope into gun backs. However, as mentioned above we need someone to play on the gorillas/resting ruck. Our young backs just aren't tall enough to take Ottens or hale type players. Sentana is a dumb player and could never take a brown/pav/revolt (all too smart for him), but surely we can have him down back for his physicality, intensity and to piss everyone off.

Kreuze has the versatility, height, mobility, tank, accountability, hunger for the contest and reads the play well enough to defend against resting ruckmen. He'll also kill them when the ball hits the deck and he suddenly transforms into a running midfielder

Think Carlos is still close to our best 22. If we were to let him go would want something around 25-35 otherwise worth perservering with. Too often Carlton seem to not get the best out of talented but wayward types in my opinion.

What stands out for me, is late last season, when we had opportunities to win games and maybe sneak into finals, we had one serious defficiency in deffence.

Rd 18: Vs Adelaide. Moran kicked 4 drifting forward, and Ivan Maric kicked 2

Rd 19: Vs Port. Damon White kicked 3 (yes on Saddington)

and Rd 20: Vs North. David Hale torn us apart (kicked 3 on Saddington again and won a heap of contested ball)

At the time, i think Carlos was injured (correct me if im wrong) but he is the ideal match up for the gorilla forwards and resting ruckman.

Setenta had a bad 2008 season. But I am not too sure if that's due to his injury? I thought his 2007 season was quite good, if he can maintain the same form like his 2007 season I would like to keep him.

Nobody wants Kreuzer to be a backman. I think the point that was being made was that Kreuzer is awesome enough to defend on the resting ruckmen.

I'd rather use Setanta, but Port are going for both so that they can have the most brothers on their list in the AFL.

Saddington is another that is no where near upto it, i really hope they have a good clean out!!!
