What's the problem, ultimate professional and excellent depth, it's up to the youngsters to force him out of the AFL side with performance.
Ok, so if it's a super cheap contract that has him firmly as back up. Fine. It's not like we were ever getting anything back if he left anyway.

The problem we all have here, is that if he is in the squad... And Campo is in the room during selections...

Why the surprise? He told us last week that a new contract was being discussed with the club.

Who has actually exhibited surprise at this point? It's both the least surprising and most Adelaide Football Club thing to happen this year.

Maybe we move Campo to SANFL coach and take David with him

Now, where are those posters who tried to tell us he wanted to go elsewhere? He's always been happy here.

He tried to go elsewhere.

We wouldn't let him!

David is a legend of the club and no doubt that part of negotiations would be the inclusion of an off field role commencing in 2020.

We will welcome David to the newly created role of Training Standards Consultant
All jokes aside he wouldn't be a bad option for a role like Matty Bodes former position. I forgot what hes studying, maybe its within that field

I'm curious, when has a promising young player ever pushed Mackay out of the side?

We've had plenty of wing/half back/midfield depth join the club and when we get around to playing them, we shoehorn either them or Mackay into a different role so that Mackay can remain in the side.

Examples:
  1. Milera. Goes to half back. Mackay comes back into half back and we push Milera to half forward. Realize he is crap there, he goes back to half back, Mackay goes to the wing
  2. Seedsman. At one point we actually played him, Smith, Milera and Mackay all in the one side
  3. Gallucci. Put Gallucci deep in the forward pocket
  4. Atkins. Plays alongside Mackay
  5. Knight. Also plays alongside Mackay and all the other guys
  6. Douglas. Even he plays with Seedsman, Milera, Gallucci, Atkins, and Knight in the side
  7. Gibbs. Yep, just add him to the pile with all the other players he plays alongside.
  8. Murphy. Plays as a deep forward.
  9. Cameron. Played as a half forward
  10. Menzel. Never got a look in
  11. Kelly. Remember that time we played Jake Kelly on the wing?
  12. Hampton. Always injured and we tried to play him as a forward or inside mid
  13. Gibson. Our fitness team couldn't get him on the park
Mackay is the luckiest "depth player about to be pushed out of the side" in history. There's just always a spot opening up for him somewhere else!

We had always intended to move Kelly into the midfield, as strange as that seems.
