Strategy Operation: Get Jack Steven

I've been threatening to start this thread for a while now. Jack Steven should be our number one Free Agency priority in my opinion.

Fast, skillfull, loves a goal and hard as a cats head. At a club that is a mile away from a flag and have publicly stated a desire to add extra high quality draft picks onto it's list. It would be a genuine win/win for both clubs.

Not against Dangerfield coming to the club but feel he would come at too high a price and would much rather invest that into guys like Rance and Dusty as well as the young talent who are likely to have break out seasons this year.

Restricted free agent. If you give him a big enough contract you may get him for free if we finish last and are guaranteed pick 2.
Unlikely though.

Where's the bidding war? We put in our offer. It either gets matched by the Saints or it doesn't. If it does, we move on. For the record, there hasn't been a club that has matched an offer for an unrestricted Free Agency player yet. It wont be the end of the world if we don't get him but I reckon he'll be a good fit.

Wonder if the rumour about us giving Saints pick 12 has any legs.
Im starting to think a deal was done under the table.
Maybe the Saints said we want more then pick 12, you havent got it so wait 12 months when he is a free agent.

Jack Stevens would be a great target. Saints will not match any offer made from a club provided that club pays enough to trigger a first round compo pick for them. They'll end bottom 2 or 3 and the compensation pick they'd receive would be to good to let pass. A pick between 2 and 4 for Stevens would be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I reckon Steven could be a sneaky chance to go FA , fits the profile of those that have recently jumped , if saints look likely for a bottom 4 placing which they'd be short odds then he could be every chance
