For those who are interested out the back of the members today i encountered Reilly, Bode, Vince, Maric, Hudson and Knights.

Burdett should be asked to leave his post, if not should be pulled away from it kicking and screaming.

Hasn't made a good deck for 5 years

WTF for?

His job is to produce a wicket that will create a result for test match cricket and it’s most definitely not about doctoring a wicket for an Australian victory.

IIRC since 1987 there has only been something like 18 wins and only 1 draw so in my view he is doing his job.

I don't want a wicket doctored for australia. A good wicket gives something to the fastmen early and at least some semblence of bounce.

England 6/551 and Australia will be in a similar ball park.

Les Burdett is the best curator in the world and he has always done a fantastic job.

Maybe ‘Dad’s army’ is just a bit too old and past there used by date to get the wickets this test unlike at the GABBA where they were fresh.

For mine the writing was on the wall when Brett "Gun Barrell Straight" Lee took the first over yesterday............and McGrath bowled first change this morning.

Perhaps McGrath should have sat this one out.

As I posted before the game, the wicket looked a little too white for a first morning wicket, which suggested that it was going to be a flat too dry batting wicket.

And so it proved.

IMO Burdett has got it wrong this time. While I agree that the wicket is not meant to favour one side or the other it is meant to be a sporting wicket with a little bit of something there for either a bowler or batter who put their heart and soul into it.

This pitch was a featherbed against the quicks from the beginning.

A match shouldn't just rely on winning the toss. :thumbsd:

McGrath obviously shouldnt have played. But if you want to see a net session instead of a cricket match, well head along to the Adelaide oval at some stage between now and Tuesday.

Should've been there afterall. :( :p

jo172, they weren't getting too carried away with the beer I hope?
I saw them aswell, they had a beer but looked like they were taking it pretty easy, saw them laster on in the day and they were drinking water.

Had to put up with a few ****************s though.

the pitch isnt as flat as what it first appeared.

England have shown that you can get something out of the pitch if you are able to work hard enough.

Disagree - it's flatter than normal. They should be getting something on a day 3 pitch because it's had that much more wear on it.

Hayden and Martyn got themselves out with dabs at wide balls - plain poor batting.

No wickets from your post to tea.

Yes, its flatter than normal no doubting that.

However I think people are going a bit overboard by saying Les Burdett should get the sack etc etc.

Its not just the wickets that count, Australia are playing and missing, which is something we didnt force them too, there is also a bit of movement out there, not just of the deteriorating pitch but in the air.

The fact that there hasnt been a wicket since my last post doesnt matter because Ponting and Hussey is in, I wouldnt expect a wicket to fall on any pitch on the world with those two at the crease ;)

Been the first 3 days, Hill on Friday, got absolutely roasted by that 23C sun :( . Shokcing pair if permanent sunnies on my face now!! Saturday I was a bit of everywhere, and Sunday was hanging out in the members most of the time. Tomorrow, my mate wants to hit some of the marquees out the back, so that might be wehere i'l be, dont know. What i do know is that, there are many FINE ladies there, and lots of 'skin' on show. See how we go tomorrow with em ;)

The members on Friday were disgraceful.

Fairy claps with not a single person raising their voice.

I spilt some beer heading up the stairs and some bitch stuck her nose up and labelled me a "stupid drunken youth"

Can't wait to get back to the outer during the Redbacks games.

What’s with the lack of good looking women for this match? Every year there are normally good lookers everywhere you turn but this test has been a huge let down in that regards. I’m thinking that most years tickets are always available on the day and the chicks just rock up and try and show off, but this year you actually needed to book tickets and therefore only the die hard fans got tickets.

Very disappointing eye candy this year. :(

But the last two days I saw tremendous centuries from Ponting and Clarke to ruin any hope the Poms had of winning the match. :thumbsu:

Women don't spend cash on Ashes tickets. This is why you see a lot at Redbacks games, because a lot of women are stingy/scabby girls and only come into the ground when it's free.

Well Drum, I dont know what game you are at, but it cant be the same one as me! All the stunners you are looking for...are in the members :p . I reckon I might spend the last day in the marquees out the back. There are some absolutely superb women there, never knew Adelaide had such fine ladies.

Im guessing you dont have Members tix Drummond?

They weren't that good in the members mate  A couple maybe but even Redbacks games matched the selection on Friday!
