Haven't looked through it thoroughly but we have a home game against Melbourne round 22!
Our draw stinks. Have a look at our start to the season and you'll see why the AFL could be accused of trying to sabotage our season. Melbourne, AAMI, Gold Coast, Perth. I'm sure they are very concerned about our travel.

Round 4 Anzac Round at Subiaco... what a great atmosphere that will be for the Len Hall game. Fremantle do it so well.

Round 17 v West Coast at Subiaco and PC gets his 2 games

And Port travel to Subi round 22 this time... still no Vic clubs

Not a good draw, When we have to play Melbourne on the Gold Coast and then play the Dockers in Perth the following week. 5 games in Melbourne is not too bad and at least no trip to Geelong next year.

Crappy start to the season; something like three of the first four games away. :thumbsd: Better at the end of the season; from Rounds 18 to 22 we have 4 games out of 5 at AAMI stadium I think (albeit one of them being an "away" Showdown). :thumbsu:

We have every right to be extremely peeved with this draw.

Adelaide’s specific requests for the 2006 Draw:

Minimal Saturday afternoon home matches
We have 4 (used to get 2).

Minimal early Sunday matches (2.10 starts rather than 12.40 starts)
3 of the 5 are 12.40 starts.

Reasonable breaks between matches when travelling
Round 3 v Melbourne on Carrara sh*thole during the 35 degree afternoon, backed up by a 6 DAY BREAK Round 4 trip to Perth v Fremantle. Also, 6 day break in between our back-to-back Telstra Dome trips in Rounds 7 and 8.

No Monday night matches.
We play the first Monday night match in years.

One trip to Subiaco IF WE ARE PLAYING AT SCG AND GABBA
We have 2 trips to Subiaco, plus SCG, GABBA, and Carrara.

More games at the MCG
We have 1... again.

So with that draw, how many wins do you see us notching up next year? After a quick first look glance, I had us with a reasonable / realistic 15 wins.

.
Thats who I think we can beat....15/16? Yep sounds right

Of the 7 teams we play twice, 4 made the eight in 2005, one finished 9th, and one finished 10th. We're just unlucky I guess

Apparently they do it as of the ladder positions after round 15, after every team has played each other once.

It's no surprise we got a sh*t draw. The AFL will do anything to make the comp as even as possible and so giving the minor premiers a crap draw is pretty logical.

You don't think we'll beat the Toasters at home? I'd be tempted to bold that one and unbold one of the Showdowns. Surely we won't clean sweep them again.

Ladder position should only make a difference to the teams you play twice. Ladder position should have no effect on decisions like travelling to Gold Coast then Perth with a 6 day break. How difficult would it have been for us to get a 7 or 8 day break?
