We have to set ourselves to be 3 wins and have a percentage of 100 after Round 5. Before the season the Blues game was 50/50 and we expected Geelong to beat us comfortably. So there was a good chance we were going to be 0-2 with percentage of less that 70 anyway. I'm pretty confident we can get over the Dogs next week then we face the Demons. Yesterday was a sign that we are ready to play quality footy :thumbsu:

I wouldn't worry about the percentage so much at the moment. We just need to get a win against the Dogs this week and then hopefully we can come out firing against the Dees and put them away. We've got the Roos after Melbourne don't we? That will be a tough game aswell.

We played 1 quarter of resonable footy and were crap for the other 3 quarters long way to go sorry to say still saying that we might be 3losses and 2 wins after round 5 which is not the end of the world .

We weren't that bad in the 2nd quarter. The honours were just about even there.
At least we've got 2 challenging matches out of the way - most of the matches up to about Round 12 I'd say we have a good chance of winning.

Really looking forward to the next 3 weeks.

In that time we play the Bulldogs and the Roos who have really had the wood over us for a long time. If this club is serious about 2009 we will win at least 2 of the next 3.

I'd be content with being 2-3 with a % around 80 considering its now 59%. We need a win against either the Dogs or Kangas? and need to beat Melbourne by 6+ goals imo

we beat the doggies last year even though we only got 2 points. we really need to work on our disposal if we are serious about making the finals and giving it a real good crack.

I do believe that if the Tigers can get back to the hard running style of footy they played last year they will go alright 2009 but if they get shut down and go back into their shells it will be a very long season more direct footy is required.

playing sideways like buster the crab is no good

Now that Johnson, Mcmahon and Raines are out we'll look alot harder and more direct coming out of defence. Terry has to stick with Polo and Rance

Having said that we need some decent targets up foward to kick it to.

Our Aim is the Western Bulldogs no one else. Just taking it one game at a time..

Ahhhh the old cleshay but I like. We can beat the Bulldogs thats what we should be looking forward to do atm. If we lose that then we must beat the Dees (as we should) and North.

I don't want us to lose then all the bulldust comes out like

"well we played the benchmark team in the comp last week and come out of it a bit tired"
NO MORE EXCUSES!

Just on boodsyboy's post...if we played 3 shit quarters against the best side in the competition and only lost by 3 goals, surely we're going alright.

For what it's worth I disagree - we were better than them for the majority of the second, the entire third, and were looking good for the first 10 minutes or so of the last.

Now let's be realistic here! A win against the Bulldogs is unlikely but the result will be marginal (I say Bullies by 2-3 goals max)! This result will probable increase our percentage a fraction and lift us from the bottom. In R4, we play Melbourne where we must kick start our season with an alimighty thumping of 10 goals + (anything less is unacceptable)! Our percentage will improve significantly, along with the return of key players should place us in a good position to face our nemesis the Kangaroos and hopefully make it 2 wins from 5 rounds and a healthy % (knocking on the door of the 8)!!!

Disagree. Why is beating the Western Bulldogs "Unlikely" we shown last year that we can match it with the Western Bulldogs enough that we could win this time around even with them at there best. Also just incase you forgot Geelong are a better side then the Western Bulldogs and we went with them for much of the day. We can beat the Western Bulldogs regardless of what you think its possible very much so not unlikely as you think

if we play anything like we did this week in the doggies match we should win.

We were quietly confident of beating Carlton last week, then got smashed like there was no tomorrow! Surely, the Doggies have proven to be a more formidable outfit in recent times, so Monday's clash should be a tight one with the Dogs expected to win. Ins/outs will be interesting at the selection table this week which could decide the outcome!

One game at a time is OK but it can make for a roller coaster. I'd prefer to look one month at a time - Geelong, Bulldogs, Melbourne, North - 2 wins: pass - 3 wins: excellent and well within our grasp

If we want to make finals this year then we need to be able to beat teams like the dogs and roos and thump teams like Melbourne. A serious finals side will dig themselves out of the hole we are in and be 3-2 after 5 rounds.
