I came to the conclusion Astbury is our reset general, Some say he is slow and kills our momentum, I say thats crap, after a lot of helter skelton from oppo trying to break thu our zone, Dave often takes a safe or telling mark and immediately pats his hand down a few times and this means reset your spots i'm going down the line long to the wing.... and next time we get our hands on it we go hell for leather in waves towards goals. it happens a lot. Were missing Astbury more than i thought we would.

Broad fits in there well completes it.
Don't underestimate the quality of that defensive performance
Dixon gets one run at a mark , one clunk grabs it in the wet and drills the set shot. 40 out from the boundary , we might like to slag off at the lumberjack
But that was as good as anything Ricoh did in his day
Have many more opportunities did he get
0 thanks to our defense
Rozee kicks one out of his arse , but he can do that so no fluke , he gets a tap thru on the goal line , he is a class player already
But no more cheap looks at goal
Lycett drills one from 40 out in the driving rain , he's the in form ruck of the competition and he tried drifting down to get a few
How many more

The went in there enough to score a lot more than they did
Well done back 6 a supreme effort
Out of those 32 how many we're genuine scoring shots on goals .Inside 50 stats sometimes misleading it's all about efficiency. Our back 6 we're solid as a rock.
What was fantastic? That was one of the worst games I've had the misfortune to attend. Circle work. This new man on the mark rule has turned the game into netball. That last Qtr and a half were dreadful.Yesterday was fantastic flew under the radar.

we clearly have the blue print for a good defensive setup
and we clearly have excellent players filling those roles
the challenge for the club is to transition new players into that back 6
Houli looks like the first that might leave
St Grimmes may leave to spend more time working on his business
but then there may be a pause , because things are working so well they wont want to leave
I can see this transition being our biggest challenge
because you can't park players in the VFL for ever
as Dimma said recently , you can't play guys too long in the VFL or else they become "2nds players "
