Hi All.
I"d like to rate our best 5 players since 1990.

That's when I started watching (1992)

It's off-season thought get our opinions as clearly no "right or wrong".

It's not easy! Plus post as I'll gather the votes as always.

I will start.

1. Carey.
2. Cunnington
3. Stevens
4. Schwass
5. Harvey

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

The reason it's difficult as (outside Carey) its hard to split.

Swallow was a gun until injured.

Wells? McKernan? etc

I look forward to challenging yourself on the nominated players.

This thread is much better then the doom and gloom that is our current predicament.

I'll preface this with saying that my top 5 is purely on field only. Mr Carey and Grant would be far from the best players overall

Carey - Easy
McKernan - Was an absolute star that shone brightly, but for a short period of time. Big part of our 2 most recent flags
Grant - Another star who I think in the modern game would be even better.
Boomer - For a long time our clubs excitement machine. The most VFL/AFL games, maybe unlucky not to snag a Brownlow.
Swallow - I kept coming back to this one. Was an amazing leader, so reliable, played some excellent football.

Could easily fit Goldy, Arch, Schwab's, Cunners. Tough going.

Wayne Carey
Brent Harvey
Ben Cunnington
Wayne Schwass
Anthony Stevens

Apologies to McKernan, Goldstein, Archer, Grant and Longmire

Seriously? Harvey is easily our best player since 2000. Head and shoulders above Goldstein who I'd rate a good bit above Cunnington.

Yes "Seriously""

I'd prefer Cunnington in my team over Harvey easily.

Boomer was bloody good for about eleventyseven years running, literally, from the get go until his culling, while young Benjamin is a classy rogue, who's importance magnifies his quality, imo. Splitting hairs, maybe. Both in a Top 10 for me :)

Boomer a fantastic footballer - huge flaws too.

It's top 5 thank you very much rickety

I took at as comparing entire careers. You can make very strong arguments for both when comparing them at their best but career wise Harvey has Cunnington easily covered.

Depends on how you view stats to impact on the game.

Cunnington has Boomer covered easily.

If I'm an opposition player i would rather Harvey play than Cunners.
