I saw lots in Dockers gear that was so old it had the green colour, and it wouldn't hurt for the club to promote and sell new Dockers clothing, at a reasonable cost, that people want to buy.
Might not be a price issue. There are some (like me) who really don't like the new(ish) jumper design and long for the old style. Any gear I buy is when they have retro design stuff.

I really don't like the green colour it's unlucky for seafarers. That along with the anchor should never have been on the first jumpers. I notice that often the eagles fans will buy whatever is new every year.

Well subi used to be off the Richtor with noise with 20,000.
My brother who is a slime member told me he preferred our games because of the amasing atmosphere with half the crowd.
So half full stadium is no excuse.

If you make any noise all chardy sipping knitters look at you like you are a weirdo.

I believe its optus stadium.
subiaco was on the fremantle train line and thus people from freos heart land were able to go to games and all the weird and wonderful characters with them.
Optus stadium is next to the city and thus you only get the city people who are obsessed with image and wont break that image to scream at the footy.
There is no public transport from freo heart land to optus stadium.
Optus stadium's location hurts freo.
That's just an excuse. The Freo express train runs straight to the stadium. Wouldn't hurt to have more pop up shops with Freo gear and stadium specials.

As many have said yesterday it came down to low expectations because of all the injuries and will change when there is a winning culture imo.

And thanks to the footy gods for Freddy yesterday.

We used to have great players and great games which were exciting to watch and we'd often win at the "house of pain".

Subi with 20 is different to Optus with 20 though. If you sneak up to 40 there's great atmosphere, like the Bulldogs game last year which was 43k.

As has been said by others - start winning and playing good football and the atmosphere will return. Yesterday would not have been a pleasant experience for those who attended and sadly a fair majority would've been expecting nothing more prior to the first bounce.

5 seasons of mediocrity (that's being generous) is going to sap the life out of most supporters. Throw COVID into the mix and its easy to see why we're a struggling club atm.

One thing you notice too at games is that when the team is being announced to the crowd individually the only players who really get a reaction are Fyfe, Walters and Mundy. Brad Hill and Neale got reactions too and apart from maybe a player making their debut it's just polite claps. Lobb got a few big reactions last year as did Hogan. Then you've got me being the only one going mad for Taberner :(

Tabs has me going 😠

I’ve been to a few Eagles games ( it by choice- work events) and on a couple of occasions there was no way they were going to win without their crowd creating a hostile atmosphere & urging them across the line.

I don’t know we have that advantage anymore.

One time I was over at Etihad watching Freo v NM. As you could imagine not a big crowd at best low 20ks. Freo were flogging them, North looked disinterested & so did their fans. I swear NM start piping in this background noise which was almost like a Rhythm of a heart beating. Their supporters started lifting and so did their players. Freo were fooled and got sucked in to the fake pressure and NM fought back to win. Maybe we need to do the same thing to get the crowd going.

I'm going to go on an old timers rant. But a huge part of atmosphere at the grounds in the WAFL hay days and AFL is two opposing crowds. We were true 'barrackers'. Crowds would be shouting out to the humour of the crowd as much as the support of the team. The back and forth between two smart arse supporters 10 rows apart was as much a part of the game as the game itself. It was hilarious. The last thing a supporter wanted was the other mob having something to cheer about, so we would cheer our team, in an effort to rise, so our cheers would drown out theirs.
This still exists at AFL games in Melbourne.
In Perth, it's gone. 30 years of one team crowds and people have lost that art of barracking. Some just resort to abuse, thinking it's the same thing. It's not.
When your team is down, that's when supporters should be at their loudest. But people just don't know how to do it. I lose my voice when I'm at the football come win lose or draw. How many here do the same? Any?
Supporters should be (cleverly) having a go at opposition players and shouting support for their own team, no matter the state of the game.
But one team crowds have meant that there is now no banter (or less) and supporters aren't sure of their role.
Ah, the good ol days!
End rant.

We had that at Subi imo but it often depended a lot on exactly where you sat. The 2 different spots I had over a decade as a member I don't recall all that much crowd banter at all, not helped by very few oppostion supporters in there of course. But before being a season ticket holder, in the 90s and afterwards when I gave up the membership when moving back into the country in Subi's later days where I just bought random tickets (often in the cheap seats) there quite often tended was a lot of funny stuff going on in the crowd.

Bring back the guy who used to bang the drum. That's what I say.
Geez I have completely forgotten about the drums but I really liked that. Thought it was someone in the cheer squad.

Probably a myth but I thought it got barred from being used because someone from West Coast complained about it.

I still remember the atmosphere in our first (AFL) game ever at Optus and it was great. Didn't a bunch of people then complain it was too loud though? So they turned down the volume... Just hasn't felt the same since then. There have been games that have had great atmosphere (because we were playing well) and the crowd was up and about by itself but the stadium itself lost its ability to pull the crowd into the game (especially if Freo are losing) after they gave in to those complaints. FFS watch on TV if you don't want to endure a loud atmosphere! Bring back to volume please!!! The whole stadium should be vibrating to the bass.

Someone complained or it would still be a thing. Also the bell 🔔 was banned..

I reckon Freddy will get a few claps!!
Our most exciting player now.

I think a lot of people have been burnt by what has happened over the last five years. How can you support a team you can't trust?

How can you cheer for guys who play such ho-hum footy? How can the average Joe or Jill get excited about seeing some of our guys play when there is every chance that they will be basically anonymous for large parts of the game? Or if the high profile players they do know move mid-contract. If the good players are leaving the sinking ship, why shouldn't they?

Sure we might call them bandwagoners. But if you are on big footy you are part of the 1%. You go anyway. You care anyway (quite a few of us far too much!)

In the grand scheme of things, we don't count -- because we have already signed up

Its the people who warmed up to us from 2010 to 2015 and who then watched on as the team imploded, scratching their heads. They are the ones who simply won't go anymore or who are skeptical when they are there. And why shouldn't they be? What reason has Freo given to believe in the club?

I’ve never thought we’ve had a very vocal home crowd. I started this one way back in our heydays of 2013.

Having visited a lot of footy all over the country I think we are the quietest fans going around. I remember getting laughed at for cheering at Subí if we were losing which seems the same as the atmosphere at Optus.
