Our Finals performances.

We have played 16 seasons.

8 of them has seen us compete in finals.

On 1 occasion we never made it passed the first week.

On 1 occasion we never made it past the Semi's.

On 4 occasions we have made the pre lim,1 still outstanding.

On two occasions we have made the GF.

Those two GF'S resulted in Flags.


How do we rate this?

Of the 8 non finals appearences only 3 I consider a dissapointment for different reasons.


94,95,96.

04 I see as the season we had to have,our coach burnt out and sometimes that aint easily foreseeable but the turn around you cant complain.


We are less than 50% at converting pre lims into GF appearences,but all Pre lims have been interstate,We win this next one and its 50% strike rate.

Acceptable?

Cant complain about the Gf appearence conversion.

interesting stats mate. quite proportionately represented for our 16 yrs in the comp - with the exception of 2 flags

one thing - we have made the prelim now 6 times - 93/97/98/02/05/06

We're due for a win and i have a gut feeling that we'll get over the line in the prelim, regardless of who we play. whoever comes over next weekend, will have had a tough game this weekend. the doggies will really push the weagles. and in the name of tradition i hope the doggies win this week. and if the do make it to the GF (the doggies that is) crows supporters should barrack for them as theyre the closest thing to an SA team there is outside of adelaide (i think they have 13 south aussies)

Front page of the Sun mid week had Justin Madden (now Vic sports minister for those who didn't know) kitted out in Collingwood stuff, urging the state to get behind the Pies.
I thought nothing of it. As if anyone would get behind the Pies. How wrong I was.

It had the filthiest crowd of all time

I was at the game in lowest section of southern stand as a 15 year old with my mum who's placid as. We somehow got landed right behind some ferals collingwood supporters. When the siren went I was pretty closes to tears, and this collingwood bogan about fourty, turns round and yell shove that up your arse ya ****ers to me and my mum, and accompaning crows fans sititng around us. Threw my cup full of coke all over him, looked like he was about to swing a punch and security grabbed him. I mean FFS i was only just 15 and clearly that old if not younger. A few fans said with that sort of courage i could be the next Roo. Sadly I'm still playing SANFL?amateur

Good story however irrelevant I thoguht.

Well that makes much more sense then! Gary Ayres mustn't have inspired me much for me to forget about prelims we played in!! I think the supporters are behind Craigy much more than the man with the oily mullet!

this is just an educated guess but to make 2 GF's from 6 prelims probably isnt a bad strike rate. especially when we have won both those GF's
