When does it come? Against which team?

Will we be waiting as long as 2001?

I don't think the depth has been this poor since then. So much for 'sustained success'.

Actually, we have had sustained success, finals every year since 2012. For our club that is sustained success, we might have an off year this year but we will be back next year.

Some of you forget the glory our club had in the late 90s and early 2000s. Be greatful we are seeing a real examination of the full list, the first step to getting better is to work out who has peaked, and also who never left the starting gate...

Probably Essendon or Brisbane in whatever round that is.

Both of those sides are playing well above us right now.

We'd better hope they fall away badly or we have no hope. This is the worst I've ever seen us play

You can all blame me. We wont win until I'm back in Australia. Stepped out the country to go on holidays and I'm not back until round 7.
Some players have gone on holidays with me.

Soft traveller, cruising when the rest of us take a bruising. Keep drifting forward of the pack for your easy cheap goals...

By the way, any spots for me in the sun in the croatian coast?? Purely for work purposes of course...

I think the head honchos at the club intended for a longer streak in the finals than four years. Or at least to show some competitiveness. Falling to the bottom of the ladder so quickly after being atop it is disastrous management from a club that wants to be near the top long term, and heads will roll if fortunes don't start to turn around.

Trust scum like you to pipe up now. Couldn't you have found a better troll user name??

By the way, a disaster is something where thousands lose their lives. Not a footy season or a footy team's single results.

Someone who was posting for more than the giggles and backslaps of their Bay13 drunk "mates" (funny how they disappear when the cops come calling with warants about posting and messaging) would get the need for perspective. Any true long term Freo fan would know 0-5 is hardly the end of the world.

Hope you feel like a real hero with your aweseome anonymous posting on the interwebs...

I honestly think the boys need a good pump up. Have a solid week of confidence boosting. All we've done all year is show no confidence in anything we've done. We have a list that should be winning games. A midfield consisting of Nat Fyfe, Stephen Hill, Michael Barlow, Lachie Neale and David Mundy should be a competition beating lineup. With Aaron Sandilands, there SHOULD be nothing wrong with our midfield. It's easy to blame our failures on Sandilands not being there, but our mids have lost their ability to force possession in the middle of the ground that we used to have. 2013 we did so well, partly because we had no Sandi for a chunk of the year, and we had to win our own ball, not just have it delivered to us.

Our defense is pure shit. Johnson and A. Pearce should be the two Centre Backs. In time. Pearce shows a lot of promise, but his game has suffered since last year. Johnson is following the same pattern. I don't rate Lee Spurr, Silvagni or Dawson.

If defense is shit, the forward line is rotting, decomposed shit. Pav is the only target we can hit, and he's under too much pressure and tight tagging to be our only option in the F50. Our forwards spend too much time up the ground helping out in our suffering defense to have any impact. Often times we end up with one or none in the F50 when we break through.

Our other massive problem are the players standing around. I watch our boys just sit there and admire the opposition running past them. Especially in defense, when a TF takes a leading mark, and our players don't make a contest.

I think if we had all of our players fit and in form, we would be Top 4. With this line up:

Defense:
A. Pearce - Centre Half Back (needs to learn, and he's our best bet at a young Tall Defender)
M. Johnson - Full Back (Managing the defense and holding the structure/tags)
A. Silvagni - Back Pocket (Let him spoil deep kicks)
G. Ibbotson - Back Pocket (don't like his disposal at all, but he's better in the pocket if he has to play)
H. Bennell - Back Flank (Also applies to Morabito, our midfield are good enough to hold their own, and our defense is struggling for good disposal)
A. Morabito - Back Flank

Midfield:
A. Sandilands - Ruck (Obviously)
S. Hill - Wing (Let him RUN)
N. Fyfe - Centre (Needs to be in a position where he can run into the forward line, taking his opponent away from their forward line)
M. Barlow - Ruck Rover (keep him inside, I'm hoping his old form isn't gone, just hiding)
D. Mundy - Rover
L. Neale - Wing (I love his disposal into the F50, and he's a solid accumulator)

Forward:
M. Pavlich - Full Forward (In the Square)
M. Taberner - Centre Half Forward (Leading Forward)
C. Mayne - Forward Pocket (Marking closer to goal makes easier goals and confidence)
H. Ballantyne - Forward Pocket (crumbing)
M. Walters - Forward Flank (Running to help MIDFIELD, not defense, and taking crumbs at the 50 to deliver to the others)
J. Hannath - Forward Flank (Marking forward, gets experience)

Interchange:
J. Griffin (Sandi can't be backed up by anyone other than a Ruckman IMO, let him play Forward as a relief player too)
L. Weller (Young bloke with promise to take over Mundy)
H. Crozier (love his effort, and he has a solid kick, can play as a running forward/defender)
OPEN SPOT (the form player out of all the rest deserves this spot, whoever that happens to be at the time)

Emergencies:
Z. Clarke (ONLY here to replace Sandi or Griffin if they are forced out, or a Tall forward spot)
L. Spurr (depth player for a defender, don't want him in the side though)
E. Langdon (midfield replacement)

With a lineup like this, we should be able to win games. Right now we should, but we are persisting with too many spuds and injuries are forcing too many good players to play other roles, or missing games themselves.

I think we should spend a lot of effort developing Michael Apeness. He is 200cm tall, and if we do it right like we did Neale, we get a very valuable player. I want him to be a utility, able to back up Ruck, play Tall either end of the ground too. Might be asking a lot, but it's the best shot without trading to gain a player like tha.t

That's actually bullshit. Our effort was there today, just not the execution.
Really? You think we've shown more than other teams? Seriously? Think about it for a moment, because we clearly haven't. We gave effort, yay players did what they're paid to do. Brisbane and Essendon have shown more and that's a fact, anyone who has watched them would agree.
