I think as far as stopping an opponent it's hard to go past Mew. Knights was genuine superstar and I love him. His ability to attack either by taking a mark or by just taking off on one of his runs was exciting. His duel with Van der Haar is the stuff of legends but then Van der Haar took quite a few hangers himself.

Like I said earlier as a footballer PK as CHB Chris Mew

As much as it hurts to say it I kinda' agree

Would you consider Gibson a CHB while Lake was at the club?

He was clearly the second tall in defense.

He did have to pinch hit there a bit but I compare Gibbo more against Ayres, as a third tall defender.

I would have Franklin in my best ever team as a half forward flank. The fact he went to Sydney does not change my mind. Dunstall or Hudson. Where to play them?

Peter Hudson is the best player I have seen. Dunstall ties with Knights as the third best player I have seen at Hawthorn. But the question is how do you fit Hudson and Dunstall into the same side. Two completely different styles. One a leading full forward that received (but not solely reliant on) excellent disposal the other could not rely on good disposal and instead relied his own (some never seen before or since) talents.

Of course they can play in the same side. Dunstall leading from full forward and Hudson playing around the goal square. What a frightening scenario for opposition teams.

Could always play them off the bench, my Lord.Imaging the full back playing on Huddo for ten minutes before he goes to the bench for a rest.
Full back. "Thank God for that"

Then, he spots his replacement, Dunstall running towards him.

"Oh my God! What next"

A refreshed Huddo and JD every 10 minutes would contribute 20+ goals I would think, and the full back would require a straight jacket before the game ended.

Ha ha I think he would have felt as though he was playing in a straight jacket from the start of the game

Our best CHB has not yet been born.
But even if he was I would still play Chris Mew at CHB.

With that forward line, Jesus would have to start on the bench if he came to Hawthorn.
