I was wondering what suburbs in Victoria were zoned to us and what suburbs have the majority of Collingwood fans.

Na before there was such thing at TAC cup, teams could only get players to what area they were zoned to. I was just wondering which local leagues and clubs were zoned to us.

Alot of Collingwood fans live in Fawkner as well. Not so many in Northcote.

Not sure, i think the are knights have might have been zoned to Carlton.

the knights were, for a time, known as preston. that's collingwood for mine (epping line, etc). prestigiacomo (research), sav and anthony rocca (lakeside-reservoir) rhyce, brayden and heath shaw are all preston/northern knights products. ditto luke godden (yarrambat), justin mallon (no senior games), robbie powell (went on to play for richmond and st kilda, no games for us) and jack anthony (diamond creek).

blake caracella is a parade/northern knights boy (as was tony woods, who was zoned to the pies) and grew up supporting the pies.

add mark fraser to the list (and darren, from the 1993 list). formerly of montmorency (who are the magpies in the diamond valley league). ditto jamie turner (iirc). mark mcgough currently plays for monty, too.

could probably add andrew tranquilli (ex-marcellin boy)

in the late 80s-mid 90s, we mined norwood (sanfl) pretty nicely. tony francis, craig kelly, ben kemp, stephen pitt and stephen patterson all come to mind. scott burns, ben wilson and brett james, too.

in recent times, we've done well out of the gippsland region/the gippsland power: pendles (scott and kris), thomas, macaffer, goldsack.

Diamond Valley was one of our metro zones.

We had a country zone around the Western District
Carman, Picken etc

MY grandpa told me depending what part of Ivanhoe (NE suburb) u either got zoned to the pies or Fitzroy... would love a map of the old zones...

The Coventrys were from Greensborough, Shaws from Diamond Creek/Eltham. So it seems like the northern suburbs is where we had our zones (or at least recruited from regularly). Although I think Carlton had a fair share of northern suburb zones too.

all the areas already mentioned, we also went out to hustbridge, yarrambat, whittlesea, kinglake. Basically our main country zoning was the area destroyed by the bushfires.

John Dellamarta who actually lived (his father owned the pub) in the Yarra Hotel on Johnston ST, just a good drop punt from Victoria Park.

I reckon he was in Collingwoods zone.
