Used to hate Starc as a bowler, now a lock.

Maxwell continues to do it that's my gripe with him. He wonders why he's nowhere near a test side- he's not improving his game. Playing high risk reverse sweeps won't help. Play straight.

Funnily when he plays normal cricket shots he scores just as quickly. That's the worst thing- he doesn't need to play ridiculous shots- he naturally will score quickly.

Where? In T20 hit n giggles? couldn't give a shit about that nonsense.
Has barely done such a thing in recent times in the shield and he most definitely has improved the manner in which he plays.

Cricket is cricket regardless of whether it's a T20,ODI, ODD or a Shirld match. It's a shot you might use once an innings and not before you are extremely well set. It's way too risky and it ends pear shaped.

I actually rate his game- in fact I have said he needs to get out of Victoria so he can develop his game fully. He has the talent I don't think anyone questions that, but he needs to apply himself for every innings.

He's been playing much more sensibly in red ball cricket in the last 18 months.

IMHO, Maxwell is possibly the most talented cricketer in Australia and must be given more chances. If he continues to let himself down, then he won't last long. However, I'd really like to think he's not an idiot, and that hopefully the message served to him after UAE has got through.

Time and a place for everything. 18th over in a T20 game, the reverse sweep is on. Day 1 of a Test match is neither the time nor place for trick shots, no matter how well you may be able to play them.

Here's hoping for more opportunities for Maxwell in the Test team in future.
