I have noticed that the AFL website does not have the highlights of the Brisbane v Adelaide game up yet, where as they have the highlights for Essendon vs Melbourne and Port vs GWS up.

I want to watch the highlights so badly.

Telstra can blow me.

Ive been looking at the live scores site - and its absolutely awful. Completely covered by fricking betting ads.

Its becoming a real problem. I'm not going to get into an argument on the validity of betting adverts (I think they should be banned and quite frankly don't care what others think having had a family almost destroyed by a problem gambler) - but if I have to see that TW ad once more its going to get ugly!!!

The AFL website and BF really struggled with the traffic during the Collingwood v Carlton game. There are websites that deal with 1000% more traffic and don't crash. Can someone with more technical nous than me explain how this works?

It's all to do with the traffic causing a bottleneck. Could be network traffic or hardware alone but most probably a combination of a lot of factors. Predicting how much traffic you could see in a short period of time and then designing your requirements based in that for an online service can get really tricky. Having said that Telstra are supposed to be pretty experienced :P

Appropriate, since Telstra suck.

Its just shit full stop this year

They've over complicated it with more changes. You have to click on something 4 times to get to what you're after

AFL can't leave anything alone can they?

It's shit full stop every year, because they can't leave it alone.

In the 1980's there was a tv show called "The Comedy Company". One of the regular skits was about a fictional company called Bastards Inc. that sold or produced items which were shonky and terrible. One of those skits had them change their name... to Telecom.

Last year wasn't great granted, but their only two major flaws were a) the proprietary video player (YouTube is that much better/easier) and b) sifting through scores for past games

Now they've stuffed just about everything up; I'm thinking of complaining to the appropriate body about the sketchiness of the $90 AFL Live mobile streaming. I expect it to be a bit temperamental but its barely worked for any of the matches I've wished to view.

Match Centre is a catastrophe this year.

I know the AFL must use Telstra as its mobile streaming partner 'til the end of 2016, but surely they can take steps to have their online presence independent of the BigPond melèe

Good luck trying to find the teams on Friday after the Emergencies have been cut for the Sunday matches.

That video player last year, i remember that, i assumed it was a troll of some kind.

Complain about the sketchiness!!

Any tips on how I can view game replays on my iPad?

I was able to do so easily during the NAB Cup but since the H&A season started they've introduced the 'Smart Replay' function which requires Adobe.

Seems like they're deliberately making it harder (/impossible) to watch replays on mobiles and tablets in an attempt to force people to pay for the AFL Live app.

That's still a running joke with my family, even after all these years. Anything that breaks or is a prick to use "must've been made by Bastards Inc."

What cracks me up is hitting the AFL app - hitting live video on the intro page - you must joing up.

Go to match central, choose the video page - hey look you can watch the game in live video!

If you want a decent live stats site then footywire do live stats from the champion data stream. Much better than trying to work out the frigging AFL website. For a footy app, "Footy Live" is the best one going around by a mile.

The AFL website has been a pain the ass for a number of years now.

They need Vader to moderate it. That would clean it up.
Some things even The Force couldn't fix, though maybe a couple of deaths at the top of Telstra's website maintenance organisation might provide a bit of motivation.

Better then just using fanfooty?

Have Telstra actually managed to figure out yet that you need to put people on the help desk on the weekends yet? I remember when someone had completely stuffed up the radio links and none were working properly, but of course, there was nobody available until 9 am Monday to deal with any issues. Living and traveling overseas, the AFL site is one of the worst places to attempt to get any news or workability.

Bump - any help with watching game replays on an iPad? It's driving me nuts not being able to watch games. I hate the Smart Replay option.

I've tried the Puffin and iSwifter browsers but both think I'm in the US so the Smart Replay won't let me watch.
