this was most intresting to me,

90. ST KILDA - Jay Neagle
Height: 191cm
Weight: 100kg
DOB: 17/01/88
Club: Essendon (Vic)
Draft range: 70-rookie

Have there been any whispers of Jay to the saints?

The AFL page says it was the result lf months of work ... if that took him more than 1hr to write then the guy isnt a very good journalist :)

Lets see how accurate it is before we bag it too heavily. I found it interesting that he said the Cats wouldnt pick up Smith at 15.

He defiantly hasnt followed popular opinion, only time will tell if he is right nor not.

Notes:

Prestia + Tape really on the Gold Coast radar.

Darling at 26 is very, very close to my prediction at 25. Really interesting he has him lower end because the majority have predicted higher rather than lower.

Kirk Ugle at 29! 171cm lad. I heard something about on the news in WA it was rumoured he would be the selection. Would be a really interesting pick if it happens!

I was almost half expecting to see George Horlin-Smith in the 1st round. A little surprised he has Brisbane overlooking him to be honest. Apparently very keen.

Jake Von Bertouch is one i've really liked but never considered to be a 2nd round choice. Would be a really interesting one for Port Adelaide that could pay off.

A little surprised to see Daniel Nicholson at 46 for Collingwood. Really discounted him for a later selection who might come into consideration at 60. Will be interesting to see if we do the same on draft day. Will be one of the more interesting players to watch because he is such an unknown.

Jeremy Howe is a really interesting name to bring up. Not one i've seen but would be interested to hear more from those who do.

No Tyler Chalwell. A couple of WCE fans have been keen for him in the top 30. Haven't seen him but interesting he is not listed at all.

Declan Reilly having played primarily school footy is an interesting ruck prospect. Being a december born he might be able to shoot up another 2-3cm so he could be an option.

Matthew Rankine at 60 really makes me smile. Don't think Collingwood will select him and have a feeling Daffey might have read how keen I am because I think he would be a supurb fit. Wonder if he casually views bigfooty? Have a feeling he might.

Steinberg after having been rated by a couple of websites as a 2nd rounder is interesting at the "bottom of his range". Never been convinced he should go in the 2nd round, but in the 60s could be a reasonable selection.

Luke Mitchell! Draft range: 60-rookie. This really surprised me with all the hype he has been generating over the last month. If this isn't a pleasant surprise for a couple of clubs I don't know what is. It leaves clubs like Collingwood who might like him at 45/46/60 still with a chance.

Brad Harvey at 69 is the right draft range. A few have been onto him as a potential 1st rounder? 50+ is probably closer and agree.

Wilson at 71 represents good value. Could be a late-rookie selection.

Daniel Farmer at 75! A player i've actually really liked. Feel he should be more in the 40s or there abouts. Would love for Collingwood to take him in the 40s even.

Anton Hamp as a 50-rookie is almost a little surprising. Been hearing both WCE + Freo have been very keen and might use 2nd rounders to secure him. Would be intersting if he goes so late.

Tom Gordon we have been hearing a bit about as a late selection rather than mid draft where I felt is more his range. Very talented KPP and if available as an option for Collingwood late would love him at 76/77.

Swannies have arguebly the best draft if its correct with Ben jacobs, Zac Fitzgerald and Pat Karnezis

Where is Andreoli? That is a ridiculous oversight.

Has us taking 4 talls.... no mids... no smalls.... unlikely to say the least

The same goes for the Hawks.......he has us taking Lamb (Hf/ Mid) - good get, BUT then has the hawks taking 3 more utility defenders....how many more skinny defenders can fit on the hawks list. I agree that they will probably take Litherland with 2nd pick if available but no more defender types after that, especially if they take Bruce in the PSD.

Daffy seems to have just looked at clubs needs with 1st round picks and then not looked at overall club picture later on in the draft.

Interesting.....

This one seemed one out of the box - I'm only going on BigFooty phantoms, where he barely featured. Would you mind sharing a bit of info Knightmare?

Carlton are big winners if they can get: Watson, Parker and Fasolo with their first 3 selections.

Also North Melbourne I think would be very happy with a draft of: Isaac Smith (likely gone to Geelong at 15), Lucas Cook, Blayne Wilson and Brad Harvey.

Least Daffy posts a mock.

I think its time these other safety first journalists got a roast
for waiting for the day of the draft, its pathetic.

Daffy and Jay Clark have posted leading up and hats off to them.

No Tyler Chalwell? Interesting, he looked the goods to me.

I always read Burgatron Phantom for the inside snippets he had. Daffy not doing this is a big disappointment. We can get any number of semi informed mocks on BF what we are looking for from these guys is some information about what is happening behind the scenes.

Great that he threw up a few different players but we have no idea if he is pulling them out of his butt or teams are actually interested in them.

Overall I have thought Daffy's efforts in the lead up to the draft have been pretty lacklustre. Give us some gossip, some snippets of information that are not already out there. If he gets another chance next year hopefully he puts in a better effort.

Yeah i reckon, Carlton first, swans 2nd with north 3rd best winners

Chris25 has seen more of him than I have and being from SA could probably give the most info.

But my notes: Tall leading forward. Could play FF/3rd tall. Slight question on height at 192 and feels slightly undersized, if he grows to 194 he should be a KPF. Strong overhead. Accurate goal kicker. Field kicking seems solid for a tall, but doesn't seem to have great penetration at this stage. Seems pretty mobile. Needs to add some muscle but that should come with time.

Probably feels most like a Jarrad Grant on style.

Had him as a 3rd round and onwards guy, not sure he will go 2nd round so Port Adelaide might be able to get him a little later if keen. But an interesting player to have at that stage anyway.

Jermey Howe footage for those that don't know much.....he is a Russell Roberston type who just takes hanger after hanger.....I love him!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucD6aJmCu6s

With the way he jumps Russell Robertson is certainly the first player to come to mind. Thanks for finding that one.

50-rookie is probably more his range considering he is a couple of years older. But certainly from those highlights shows a fair bit of promise.

I like von Bertouch. I think he is a really good prospect, because he almost combines the best of both worlds. He has that classic leading full forward aspect to his game, but he is really quite fast for a full forward and is mobile enough to move up the ground if needed.

I had him more around the 50 mark, but I wouldn't be too disappointed with him around 40.

Andreoli, Mullett and Milera are the only real issues I have with Daffy's draft. They should all be in it for me. Along with Fremantle overlooking Darling, and the Eagles landing him. I agree with him about Chalwell, he is easily the most over hyped player this year.

Considering this is his first mock draft, it really isn't that bad. Burgan's last year was pretty average anyway.
