These 2 players are going to be quality players for their respective clubs for many years to come. I'd be interested to know who you guys think will be the better player and which of the 2 you would prefer to see at your club

Probably Pavlich because of the fact that he can run through the midfield and North already have a gun CHF (Petrie), so Pavlich would be of more value to North then Reiwoldt. Not saying that he is better, but Pavlich is more what North is lacking then what Reiwoldt could offer.

But Roo does run through midfield, he played wing 6 or 7 games this season much to my disappointment, Riewoldt would be the best CHB going round, and Petrie while good isnt in Roo's class.

I understand that he can run through the midfield, but Pavlich does it and does it well. I am just saying that Pavlich is more flexible and versatile then Reiwoldt.

Oh and Reiwoldt is not the best CHF going around cos Jonathan Brown and Warren Tredrea are still 'going around'.

my username aside, i think pav will be the better player. in my mind he is the complete package - height, strength, speed, skill, aerobic capacity, leadership etc.

he has the attributes to play anywhere on the ground where as riewoldt is more or less a KPP. whilst im in no doubt riewoldt will be a very very good player i can't see him as being as dominant as pav. i see pav playing a similar role to hird as the floating go to man who can affect the play anywhere on the ground.

would u like to show me where i said he'd be the best CHF 'going round'??????? oh ok, the defence rests.

and Riewoldt is much better in midfield than u give him credit for..... and is a better KPP the Pav. That said pavlich is a gun!

Roo has more Stamina than Pav, Roo is a gun.

When he builds more muscle he will be unbeatable. Still in draft camp he still is in the top 5 of all time in stamina. Definantely a better mark than Pav about the same pace and can hold a KP better than Pav

Pavlich seems to be able to do everything Riewoldt does but is much more of a powerhouse when it comes to busting packs and his off the mark acceleration is unmatched by a bloke of his size. These are just personal observations, I think I would Take Pavlich but St.kilda and Fremantle have both got gems there and there is no need for the comparison, they will both be multiple all-australians.

At present, probably Pav, but just. He is a little harder at it. Also, while Reiwoldt played wing, I am not sure he could start in the middle as Pav has done, and play a true onball role.

That said I would be happy to have either at the Pies.

Also is near the record for 20m sprints at draft camp and has only got faster. Bloody fast for a 194cm boy.

20M Sprint
Steven Koops, Fremantle, 2.79sec (1995)
David Rodan, Richmond, 2.86sec (2001)
Campbell Brown, Hawthorn, 2.87sec (2001)
Aaron Henneman, Essendon, 2.89sec (1997)
Jeff White, Melbourne, 2.89sec (1994)
Nick Riewoldt, St Kilda, 2.92sec (2000)

he's a better KPP than Hird, does that make Roo better than Hird?

Riewoldt has started in the middle, played in the ruck ;)

My bad you said CHB, which IMO is even crazier then me mis-reading what you said. Reiwoldt is not the best CHB going round as he is a KP forward, he could probably play in defence, but he is not better then Leppitsch, hell he aint even better then Prestigiacomo, Lucas, McGregor, Colbert or Harley at CHB (apologies if I have missed anyone).

And please don't get me wrong, I am not bagging 'roo', I would love for him to be at North. I just think you are going a little far in your admiration for him.

it's well aknowledged from StKild athat he is a far better player at CHB than CHF but GT is playing him at CHF and the Wing to A.) Teach him about the game and reading it,
and B.) on the wing to protect his still slightly immature body, the kid dominates at CHB, plays reasonably at CHF... watch StK v. Freo 2002 and StK v. Hawthorn 2003 if u rnt convinced,
