Getting really hard to follow this channel and take their stuff seriously anymore when they come up with absolute bullshit like this. They have the most cutting edge hardware on hand and this is blatantly wrong and misinformation. Steve's anti-NVIDIA crusade is getting pretty cringe at this point and of course you can't reply to them with anything contrary because they share your reply to ridicule you and for their egang to bully you.
30fps? Please. Yes, it's taxing on current hardware but it's a next gen title. Control was released at the end of the last console cycle with RT features that were only available on the new RTX2000 cards that were available at the time. It's not unoptimised. I've managed a constantly 50-65 fps with med-high settings with max RT, disabling path tracing and DLSS quality. Because it's single player I don't see the downside of frame generation and it has drastically improved my experience. Sure, with a 4080 and 5900x I know I'm still in a small percentage of gamer but turning down to low-med settings is still better looking and performs better than console. I'm sure he's on a 4090 rig with a 7800x3d or 13900k or something so this 30fps comment is absolute garbage.
A scene with heavy RT shadows and reflections as well as very taxing volumetric fog, DLSS quality and the FPS counter at 123 (photo for proof as it doesn't show in screen shots). That's with frame gen and it's not quite exactly x2 frames so my real FPS here would be about 65-70. Poor Steve.

sounds expensive but it's a threadripper. I only know value in the gamey stuff. Is this for your pron server?
